We did a bike fitting after deciding the details and found out my current road bike was way too bike for me.
It's a good job the finish project is less of a bike for you.

Reading through this thread, everytime I read one of JAHTim's comments I couldn't help but smile, the man emanates happiness!
How's the bike doing? I wasn't following the thread as it was happening, but the end product is lovely! :)
...needs mudguards though...

The bike is doing well. I had some trouble with the rear wheel so it's been rebuilt, I've changed the tyres to Conti 4 Seasons and installed some Gore Ride On Professional brake cables.

Good to hear :)
What happened to the wheel?
The gumwalls look great, are the contis for better puncture protection?
-

the wheel was built wrong and under tensioned. So it had to be rebuilt.
The Challenge Criteriums looks awesome and roll very smoothly with no resistance at all. But they also have no resistance to even slightly sharp things, I had 3 punctures in 2 rides on it so gave up on them. The alley to my front door is constantly littered with broken glass as it's too narrow for a street sweeper to go down, so I was constantly picking pieces out of them. -

Cool, all makes sense

Henry is the bike that heavy to not be able to carry it across the alley to your door?
Mine's the same, that bike of mine will be the death of my back one day...

Henry have you had a look at the CK baseplate/crown race?
I am thinking about shaving off 1 or 2 mm from underneath so it sits tight on enves, and its sealed a little bit more too... got a closeup photo how snug it sits on yours per chance? -

no wonder, still looks good. Its more my ocd here coming into play, and I got a feeling that by doing it I could seal the cartridges a little better too.
