• Heal up fast man.

  • Hey Mr B

Time to sitback and healup - don't worry too much about a bit of blood on the brain.
The brain is a living organ, it can heal pretty good.

Not sure if your on anti seizer drugs, they make you feel 10x worse but make sure you finish all your meds.

I have had my fair share of head injuries (not a fan of helmets)

  • Am on Anti-Seizure meds, tbh they don't make me feel at all bad.
Antibiotics (in liquid form) are fucking rank though.
Prescribed painkillers are a powerful narcotic formula called Hycet, trying to limit my exposure to those and supplement them with ordinary liquid OTC painkillers. Was on Morphine for 4 days but that's done now.
No idea who called 911, perhaps it'll be in the report.

  • Shit news! Heal up soon, at least it sounds as though the driver did the right thing.

  • With the insurance that is, rather than hitting you. That really was the wrong thing.

  • Well at least you have four days on it.
Starts messing with your stomach after that anyway

Hydrocodone is pretty strong stuff, might want to ask your doctors if you can try stepping it down to Tramadol first before trying to rely on OTC.

Good work trying to limit your painkiller use but no rush just yet.

  • The reassuringly expensive dental fix of my tooth that was supposed to last a life time fell out last night while I was Kummerspecking on some comfort food.

Well that lasted 3 days then..

Still haven't made contact with Oliver yet
Although I now remember he contacted me last time I had an accident, think I ignored him as a suspected ambulance chaser.

    Anyone got a number?
    My dental costs just doubled.

Tommy, who is doing your teeth? Have you started with the NHS?

  • Tommy, who is doing your teeth? Have you started with the NHS?

How long would it take to get 'cosmetic' work done on the NHS, starting from scratch as a new patient?

Daniel redid it the cementing today - so far so good!

Hopefully the costs will incurred by the driver that caused them but I have doubts..

Just who drives a landrover around the parliament square area?
When I spoke with him on the phone it was cold clinical experience.
I remember thinking somthing about the car (black landrover) screamed 'police' to me as it knocked me through the air.

  • Isn't Mr B in Los Angeles right now? I don't think the NHS goes out there.
    Heal well and fast, buddy!

  • Just out of hospital following an RTA

Hope you heal up good and fast.

  • Think I'm going to go for a ride in about an hour and take flowers to all four scenes of cyclist deaths in the last week. Can't attend Bow LCC protest thing tonight. Anyone want to join me?

  • Not sure if this is the right place or not, but I went down last night (07/11/2013) on the "south" side of Putney bridge, heading north to Hammersmith. Can't remember what happened before or after but would love if someone saw it and filled me in. Went to A&E and got checked out but don't remember how I ended off.

Single speed: black frame, red wheels and rims, red saddle, red helmet.

There were a few mahoosive potholes on the bridge recently. The ones on the northbound carriageway have been filled but I'm not sure about the ones on the southbound part.

First day back on the bike for me since my minor stack. It has taken nearly three weeks for the swelling in my calf to go down. Meh.

  • Apparently Oliver Jeffcot's firm - Bolt Burdon Kemp
Only take on a case if the claim is more than £25k...!

My £300 for a dental bill and new pair of trainers is looking a faint hope

You have also have damages for pain and suffering. Speak to Oliver.

This. And loss of earnings. Hope you are feeling better this week.
    Poor thing.

Aw that's lovely Skully. Wish I could have joined you.

  • i don't know if this has been discussed

it seems as the clocks go back/ autumn arrives and commutes start happening in the dark the number of incidents increase rapidly, people adapt to the new conditions slowly and car drivers don't see bikes quite so clearly ... cyclists lights not quite as bright as they dig old lights out of the cupboard with weak battery's

i don't know if it is possible to chart the frequency of riders down on a graph to see when the highest frequency of incidents happen

it might be worth doing some kind of campaign just before the clocks go back ( or when the most frequent amount of accidents happen ) asking every one to take that little bit more care

  • these last few weeks have been horrendous
my thoughts go out to all those involved and their friends and relatives

  • About 18 months ago I changed jobs and started to commute by car. It's been a real eye opener to how visible cyclists are in the dark. It amazes me how a dim light gets lost in the headlights of cars and the street lights. With all the will in the world it can be really hard to spot riders coming up a cycle lane, especially when it rains.

The single thing that makes you easy to see in some ones mirrors is a bright, flashing light. You pick it up in your peripheral vision. Even if I can't tell where you are or what you are doing I know you are there and can drive accordingly.

I'm looking forward to changing jobs and getting on my bike again.

I am guilty of this and am out to buy batteries at lunch time and possibly some new lights too.

  • I don't know if this has been discussed but a 5th cyclist was killed around midnight last night...

I was thinking this as well. There's been a definite spike just as the light starts to fail. Proper lights are required, and it makes me wander how many london cyclists are encountering a winter commute for the first time. Similarly, I've noticed a lot of drivers reacting later and making closer passes as they obviously can see less too.

  • I almost got hit by a car on Camden Rd last night as I was waiting in the right filter box.
Yellow van, swung out so far that he came into the box at about 40mph.
I usually wait there track standing but hadn't bother last night. Very lucky.

It's why I like usb lights, I can have them plugged in at work and know I will be seen.

  • ^^ glad you're alright

  • This week so far I've seen a moped rider down with a suspected broken leg, and a cyclist by the roadside who'd been knocked off by someone who pulled out on him. Nothing in the weeks before.

  • I'm now making all my friends do cycle training, regardless.

Left lights on the other bike so had to pick up some moon crescents as backup lights. love them.

Weekend, 3:40PM left the pub, still good light to be seen, but by about 4:00PM I needed lights... crazy fast this sunset bizzo...
