  • That's just a standard shimano bb tool!

ffy, lets not get the campagheads pissed off

  • No, it kind of exactly looks like this

  • They're huge.

  • Ffy? I googled it, Federal Fiscal Year?

  • minimise your window

and ... ian has a mechanic ! wtf
i didn't see him following 20m behind you in case of incident / mechanical on the margate ride ... did you give him the day off or something

  • I have a team actually

made up of OldSkoolRacer who does the work and Laner who complains afterwards.

  • Sounds like Team Sky.

  • And you can be the muscle

  • Unlikely.

  • OK, let me clear this shit up. You cannot use any normal bog standard tool to install this BB.

The non DS cup has the splines on the INSIDE of the cup, meaning you need a BB tool that will fit INSIDE the BB cup from the DS using an appropriate socket extension.

Fucked up design i know, but trufax.

  • That said, a shimano BB tool that is for use with a socket (allen key) fitment should work, but the type designed for use with a large spanner or socket (32mm IIRC) will not work as the hex fitment for the spanner/socket is too large to fit inside the BB shell.

  • then the icetoolz equivalent seems like your best bet:

I haz one for borrows if you want

  • oh the pain and suffering you need to go through to get a sub 4kg bike

CB you'll need a fabricator to make all the unique tools needed for this build
your list of employees gets longer
maybe buy a lathe..... a big heavy one

  • Iain - Get on it, we need to build this thing so you can break it.

If i can borrow it, please! Tomorrow at LMNH?

  • So is it just the cranks holding this up?

  • Iaine, i have one of those too, will give to OSR tomorow in case apollo cant give you his

  • If i can borrow it, please! Tomorrow at LMNH?

no probs..... but if Hovis is seeing OSR anyway maybe do that if its ok.....

  • cool cool :-)

    Cheers both of you :-)

  • I am tool king. I have some to install things I have never owned

  • haha same, but they came in a kit to be fair...

  • Mine came from me pinching them off people when they weren't looking

  • I've got one of these in my cupboards. Might come in useful when cutting your steerer/seatpost?

  • I don't think he should cut anything... needs to keep the resale value for next months sale.

  • Don't lend that to Iain. He'll end up chopping his hand off.
