  • Fucking awesome bicycle, I love it.

Unfortunately I'm trying to find a need for it.

    Fucking awesome bicycle

    Asked and answered

  • I'm sure he can't afford it after his recent purchase...

  • I thought there was an actual Talbot with that paint-job too, now?

  • Certainly the Kleinfadez I saw at TLC was Talbot, not Dammit's Cannondale

  • Phew, glad it wasn't just me. Was pretty sure I would have noticed if it was the CAAD. Think it might be Matt's actually, looking on instagram

  • Bought a caad12 frameset. Mechanic has just informed me there is no way to run my new Campag Record 24mm chainset on it because bb30a. Assumed I could praxis convert it. Balls.

I suspect this is untrue, but I've never tried it myself. A quick google for BB30a + Ultratorque reveals some promising leads, like this thing.

  • Disc? Selling? :)

  • seconded especially if its by miracle one of these 2017 ones in 60cm.
    Gorgeous paint job imo.

  • gorgeous ^

  • That said, its £411 more than sigma were selling the 2016 frameset at recently. Think that kind of cash would get you an even nicer paintjob or am i wrong?

  • My SAVE seatpost arrived, reading the box it says that you need a minimum amount of seatpost above the collar - 148mm, not including the head.

    I'm just about there, which I find surprising - for context, I'm 6'2" on a 56cm frame.

If I am borderline for having enough post I'm wondering if others don't make the minimum showing requirement?

  • Interesting, what is it about your limbs that makes a 56 the right size for you?
I really should go get a proper bike fit but I'm 6ft 4, use a 58cm frame and regularly think a 60/61 would be easier so curious about your reasons.

  • I'm just about there, which I find surprising - for context, I'm 6'2" on a 56cm frame.

Not surprising considering a 56cm frame is designed to fit someone a little shorter than you (although can understand why you went for the 56cm, as the 58cm was too high for you).

I'm wondering if others don't make the minimum showing requirement?

It happened, we have done "crash replacement" frames through Cannondale due to customer going above max insertion point.

  • I'm 6'1 and went with a 56cm.

I think you're reading the opposite of what I'm saying - I acknowledge that I'm on a slightly smaller frame than many would ride, the Cannondale SAVE seatpost minimum refers to seatpost OUT of the frame, i.e. you must have 148mm of (sniggers) shaft showing or the post is "incompatible with your frame".

I have 95cm from pedal axle with crank at max extension to top of saddle, for additional context.

  • I did misread your post, so it's not the maximum seatpost showing but the minimum?

TBF you already voided the warranty by reprinting the frames!

  • Cheers @Howard, I found that too and placed an order!

  • 100 cm + 18 cm shaft.. ( not including the head ;) )

6ft 4 on a 58cm. Its apparent my height is in my legs.

You had me worried for a moment, my SAVE came unboxed so had no idea on requirements.

And i've committed what is one of my pet hates. Mixing of imperial and metric.

  • could anyone enlighten me on synapse adventure clearances?

did anyone attempt a synapse 650b conversion before?

  • @dammit my recent downsize from a 63 (I'm 200cm) to a 58 has put me on the limit of max extension, but it has meant I can go a full 2cm lower on the front for 'sick aero gains'. Having snapped the seat tube on two previous bikes well within the max extension I'm not fussed. Just a tick to the rules and any issues should be replaced under warranty.

  • I can just squeeze 28s in without guards, or 25s with guards. It has flattened, quite wide chainstays, so i don't think a smaller wheel would work. It's the same frame as the normal, non-adventure, alloy Synapse if you want to search for examples
