Amazing, how does it ride? Does the 'shock work?
-
• #6704
I've not ridden it yet, Rob, from whom I bought it, said that it's fully functional.

I think someone from 5th floor raced one of those last season in cross.
Will you be following suit?
-
• #6708
It looked a bit like that. I expect I'll get told it was a different model.

This one is a road bike.

That's the worst excuse ever.

There are some folks who will do it but the problem with this (^) is that it's difficult / impossible to get the parts.

My 29er takes a 31.2 seapost clamp, will running a 31.8 one kill me? If so where can I get a black 31.2 one?
-
• #6713
If it's anything like the barends I used to run on some old Carbon bars pop some kitchen foil up the inside for clamping...

Silk Road is in Soho Bikes if anyone fancies checking out a classic bit of "good idea at the time" design.

• #6715
Hmmm, im not sure how much I'd trust foil for a seatpost, I have some brass though so I might try that.

Coke can aluminium is about 0.15mm thick. Two full turns of that and you'll be up to the correct diameter.

fucking cannondale - pioneer BB30 and then fucking ignore the standard 68mm and make their bb's assymetric with an extra 5 mm on the non drive side, so can't install rotor power cranks right now.
where can i get bb30 axle spacers? headset spacers are too small
-
• #6719
Hang on, which one do you need - the 7.5mm NDS one?
-
• #6720
Or are you installing Rotor cranks on a Cannondale frame?
-
• #6721
In which case you need two of these:

• #6722
Am fitting rotor cranks onto cannondale frame. The cranks come with 2x 11mm spacers as pictured above. but those are the spacers for a normal bb30, not bb30a (where the frame is 73 not 68mm wide). So I now need to ditch the 11mm nds spacer and replace it with 6mm of spacers instead.
-
• #6723
ooh, but your picture seems to indicate there may well be spare spacers on the cannondale cranks that i can appropriate
-
• #6724
You've got some options, certainly, the Rotor cranks can take up quite a lot of slack themselves* which is going to help.
Sounds like you'd be very close with the 7.5mm Cannondale SiSl/BB30 NDS spacer, but that's designed to work with the 2mm bearing shield so you'd need to do your sums to make sure there is no surprise waiting.

Hacksaw meet 11mm spacer etc
Yep, it's going in for a light modification and fresh coat of paint, so needed to be stripped anyway.
