  • Sorry there should have been a winky there.

It was a sort of joke about the fact that there's already something which is a CAAD track but it gets ignored because it's too mainstream.

  • If they did a track version of the Supersix... well gosh. That would be just dandy

  • Tore down my track down today. Havent seen it naked in years

    i should do this.

  • there's already something which is a CAAD track but it gets ignored because it's too mainstream.

Pah, mainstream. Really liking the frame to be honest, it's just a good quality alu track frame.

Hmmm. The capo is indeed weird. I think it's ignored because of what it isn't rather than what it is. It's just not a Cannondale Track.

Although the Saeco version looked rad.

  • I really miss mine, I'd swap my Ridley frame for one with no hesitation- if, of course, there were no dents in the Cannondale.

  • I never really understood why the Capo wasn't that popular. I always thought the frame looked pretty nice. I guess part of it is the RRP.

  • Well if anyone sees a 58cm Capo let me know.

  • Picked up my first ever dale about 2 weeks ago. It's a CAAD7 Optima with Shimano 9sp Ultegra, in the exact same Saeco colour scheme as the track CAAD5 above.

    In. Love.

  • Can anyone give and indication is this is a good deal? Would be a winter/training bike rather than "best". Also trying to find the year so I can get the geo but my google fu is poor today. This is a 54cm.

caad3 decent deal for 180 i'd say as long as it rides ok ... i can't see the model which is on the top tube by the steerer tube r500 ok r2000 or r1000 are higher end models
i bought frame forks and stem for about 120 recently

  • Cheers dicki.

  • The woeful description of that poor CAD3 makes me suspicious.

  • Yeah, I was too but thought I'd see what people thought. As it's a 54cm I think it'll be too small but maybe worth a look.

  • it definately looks like a caad3 dropouts are right fat downtube and bb area
just the fact it needs tinkering might make it less worthy
check ebay for other caad3 and see what else you could get

There is one hanging in the window of this shop: http://cycleworx.myshopify.com/

    It looks about 58/59cm.
And I am pretty sure its NOS. He has build it up pretty daft/fixeh skiddah style with bullhorns etc.

No doubt it's a cannondale. I just suspect it's stolen.

  • ahhh

this would be a nice starting point but a build plus parts is always more expensive than you think !

    certainly not 180

  • Does this look suspicious to anyone? Always wanted a caad dale.

  • It's on Gumtree, it's £120, and there's no mention of the history or condition.

Either the seller knows naff all about it or its nicked.

  • does the Pope shit in the woods?

  • does the Pope shit in the woods?

He picks his nose in the car, so maybe he does. Yeah you guys are right. Not sure what the hell I was expecting. Greed took over.

  • No doubt it's a cannondale. I just suspect it's stolen.

Nothing on bike register in my area but I'll check with the old bill if I look at it.

  • On Jammy's Rose thread a question arose about BB30:

Why would any company try to complicate matters further?

The performance benefits of System Integration: lighter, stiffer, stronger.

The oversized BB shell allowed the use of an 30mm aluminum axle and provided a larger interface for downtube, seattube and chainstays increasing stiffness. It allowed cannondale to make their SI crank the lightest and stiffest crank available at the time (2000?). It pushed the design of road bikes grudgingly forward towards the oversized carbon era.
