Shit, that looks like it was brutally murdered . Are you ok?
^^ Awesome.

Next year CAAD10 only come in 105 instead.
Mainly because the high end CAAD10 isn't selling very well for obvious reason.
-
• #381
Ed is that because people spending 2k want carbon?
-
• #382
Well they're planning on releasing the SuperSix Evo with a low-end groupset for £1699... which is batshit mental.
-
• #383
Wow, that's incredibly cheap. Still want a CAAD10 though...
-
• #384
Me too.
That being said, had a play with an Evo, and they are absurdly light.
I particularly want the new SISL crank. -

I really do like that era of dale.
I'm very tempted to buy a 2014 CAAD10, but then I keep thinking about Canyons and how ridiculously cheap they are.

Quite right, they can't understand why they should buy an alu frame over the carbon one that cost a little more despite the fact the CAAD10 is quite possibly the best alu road frame out there.
They're now sold as frame set as well, expensive thought.

not everyone wants some fugly carbon monstrosity

The SuperSix Evo Hi-mode is amazingly light, the Red version weight a mere 6.15kg with pedals.

When I looked last the frame and fork alone were £2,200.

In the article I read on BikeRadar they've made some changes to the frame to make it easier to manufacture at that price point .. Still an interesting proposition though

Interesting.
I do sometimes wonder how long my System Six frame will last.
-
• #393
How how long in what sense? Structurally or in terms of relevance to more modern frames?
-
• #394
Structurally was what I was thinking.
In terms of relevance to more modern stuff it's a bit behind the curve in terms of stiffness (it's actually significantly stiffer than the current stuff), and it's quite a lot heavier than the modern stuff.
I quite like the stiffness, and it's 6.8kg anyway, so from those perspectives I'm happy with it.

Worth knowing that although the evos all share the same designation they are all slightly different in terms of manufacturing process / weight. I guess the BR article makes this explicit.

I'd be happy to sell my 2012 Supersix Evo Red if anyone wants it. £2,500, and I'll clean it and service it before you get it. It's basically mint, bar some dirt.
