I've got a 5mm on mine, and its fine.

CAAD10 and SuperSix headtubes are quite short and the slammed position very aggressive, right? So most consumers would need / be more comfy with the 30mm (plus maybe extra) spacer(s), which is why it comes standard. Lots of Pro riders use spacers under their stems too, on Cannondale and other teams.

But muuuuuum! The kidz on the inerwebz sez slam dat stem. That is moar important than comfort while riding as I only do that once a week, whereas peer approval iz eternal.

I personally think having a 30mm cap is a bit restrictive, at least with a 2mm cap it's possible to fine tune your position with simple headset spacers instead of hard-to-get bearing caps.

Daniel Oss and Alex Howes, etc:
Formolo with some above the stem:

but they are simply pros, what do they know. clearly they are ignorant of lfgss internets bike fit, or SLAM DAT STEM.

Wow. Is that because she's riding a "men's" geometry frame?
I'll need to keep the conical spacer when I size down frames I think or I'll break my back. Might need to take up yoga if I want to join the STS club.

• #2561
embrace the spacer; for tumblr/pedalroom there is always photoshop
-
• #2562
where are you based? i can teach you some yoga if you can get to my studio in New Malden.

Watching Calvin Watson in the USA Pro Challenge is hilarious. He looks like he should have a fucking Rapha rucksack on and headphones in.

Anyone got a recommendation for mud guards for a carbon synapse with 25s on? Raceblade xl or PDW are in consideration but not sure which to go for
-
• #2565
I'm sorry, what was that? The king of spacer-baiting has finally accepted the spacer?
-
• #2566
A Trek in the Cannondale thread?
You've crossed the streams buddy...
-
• #2567
Or slamdatstem, and get a bike with the proper geometry.

• #2568
It's evidence of pros being better at bike fitting than posing.
It being here also makes all your 'dales look better.

Am i correct in remembering that someone sold a BSA kit for hollowgrams?
-
• #2570
Yes.
No.
Maybe.
There is a BSA adapter, which is basically the tandem axle and some 30mm external cups from Zipp or Rotor. It can be used with the MTB spider, because that sorts out the chainline. With the road spider and tandem axle the spider is 10mm or so out which is unworkable.
You'd need a custom spider then, the tandem axle and put up with an MTB q-factor if you are using it for road.
Not great.
If you are using it for MTB then it's an option but it's more expense on top of expense.

• #2571
I was thinking for MTB yes, ho hum
-
• #2572
Possibly kinda-worthit if you pick up some older Si cranks for cheaps.
-
• #2574
They'd have to be cheap to make that worth while, its this that got me thinking:

sram gxp and then that? I know not as stiff, light... yada yada yada, but they look very similar which is what we're really after
No idea sorry. I've been using the 2mm I bought off tester for a year though...
