  • Them 3 bikes are well nice keep up the good work.

  • Oof. Would love to see those out on the road. V nice

  • i am asking rather than asserting but dont pdws limit you to 25mm tyres at best ? with flingers or others you can go up to 28mm

  • You might be right. I’m on 25s but will be moving up to 28s when these gp5000s are done.

  • Winter bike is a 2013 CAAD10 with 6800 brakes and 25mm gp4000 on Aksiums. Will PDWs fit?

  • Oh hello there 😍😍😍

  • Jesus theres been some really nice builds posted here recently. The white r800's are lovely.

I sort of miss having a Cannondale. I've realised, that after selling all my bikes in order to afford my forever biek, I don't have a winter bike.
If anyone has an old Caad frameset in size 58 for sale please let me know. The cheaper the better but could spend a wee bit more for something nice.

  • Picked this up outside Princeton back in summer but only got around to riding it lately. Swapped the controls out for 105 STI and it's super nice to ride. Stem is a bit looong, mind you.

  • I don’t think those bars are supposed to have flat tops so the reach is pretty long. Tilt them down and bring the levers up to shorten it. Or change stem of course

  • What @PhilDAS said. It'll make more sense to change the bars than the stem though.
    There's a 26mm compact bars thread.

  • Yeah those bars are super long - think they might have come as standard on that frameset, as my girlfriends had the same. Swapped them for Deda Piega's last week - it was a big improvement.

    Bike looks awesome though!

  • I echo what @PhilDAS has said - tilt the bars down and bring the shifters up. It’ll shorten the reach and mean the bars are set up correctly and comfortably :) Here is a pic for reference

    Lovely bike btw!!

  • Cleaned up my CAAD12 yesterday after trying some Festive 500 miles and found this hiding when I took off the rear wheel.

Nice Thumb sized crack inside the drive side chain stay. Looks like it's about to form into a full on crater. Trying to work out how to resolve the problem now as this was an insurance replacement for a stolen bike so need to figure out where my insurance company got the bike from to attempt a warranty claim.

  • Really nice builds!

  • If you registered it with Cannondale, couldn’t you go direct to them rather than a retailer?

  • Take it to a not-shit cannondale dealer and get them to phone the mothership. Have some proof that you are the original owner to hand.

  • Ok, I was curious about that. The previous owner had them set up that way but maybe a little exaggerated so it felt messed up. I'll try find a middle ground. Thanks!

Also thanks everyone else for the input. I might also check out alternate bars etc, and thanks for the kind words!

  • @snoops I didn't register at the time, but did register it with them yesterday! :)

@Howard I rang my local shop who deals with Cannondale this morning and they said they would have to charge to look after a warranty claim (sending back to Cannondale etc.) and I should go back to the original retailer who should do it for free. I got the frame through my Laka insurance and I think they got it from Sigma as there wasn't a lot of stock at the time.

There's also hardly any stock in the UK right now, so I might be sans road bike for a while. Hopefully not though.

I do also have some contacts at CSG so I might try going direct to them too. Would be interesting to know if this part failure of a CAAD12 frame is common or not.

  • Just get some compacts :) the deda ones are cheap

  • Thanks—will check this out after work!

Ugh....not sure it’s supposed to work like that. You could ask CSG if it’s supposed to work like that :)
