Yeah, indeed. But I had to pay 140 € service cost for trading parts from one bike to another so I hope it doesn't happen once again.

Which shop did it for you?
-
• #10604
If it was a Cannondale dealer then trading parts from one frame with an issue to another with the same issue should be included and free of charge ;)
-
• #10605
Yeah I’m confused as to how a warranty job has cost you money
-
• #10606
I know. And I won't pay for it a second time. This time I didn't make an issue of it because the shop I went to, really helped as much as they could (I didn't buy the bike at their shop so they didn't have to put time in my "warranty case" in the first place). They told me they would charge for the replacement and I was happy to pay for it in case they could help me get a new frame. They did what was agreed but Cannondale just thought to solve this cheap by sending me an "old" frame.

Urggghh messy.
Also I’m surprised the shop didn’t tell you that they basically charged you to move parts between two identical frames.
Are you prepared to die in a ditch to get this sorted? You’ll need to get on to ‘Cannondale’ (CSG) and hammer away at them until they sort it.

being charged for a warranty frame swap isn't uncommon, a few years ago Sigma quoted me £150 to swap my cracked Supersix for my warranty replacement - it's still workshop labour to the shop that's not covered by the frame manufacturer regardless (obviously i politely declined and did it myself regardless).
As far as i know this is the case for most major retailers like Evans / Cycle Surgery etc too.

No no ( maybe I putted this wrong): I don't blame the shop, they told me they wanted to take care of the warranty proces (as a customer you can 't contact Cannondale directly for that) but would have to charge me in case the parts needed to be moved between the bikes as they didn't sell this bike to me (that was another shop).
O, but I will definitely hammer on them. They replaced the frame so they indirectly admitted there's an issue with that frame. I've sent them this video so they have proof this frame has the same resonance thing. I won't let them get away with it this way.

It's a funny one... and it's been totally messed up by remote online sales but as I understood it part of the downside to being a dealer of a particular brand is that you suck up doing warranty work. That doesn't stop shops from charging for it, and if the customer has bought from another shop, then they will feel within their rights to do so.
In this case, it's not a frame that has randomly cracked - the design is faulty, it doesn't work as intended. That doesn't seem like a situation where the customer should be out of pocket.

Would anyone be interested in a Super X in a 58, full ultegra 6800 groupset, trp eurox canti brakes, DT Swiss r23 wheels, zipp bars, dale stem/post and fizik saddle?

Not entirely, the warranty swap can be done for free providing it came from the same shop/company.
If brought elsewhere, a charge may be added.

I did say most. I can only comment on CS and Sigma directly though.

Wow.

Just an FYI, mine had an identical issue when I first got it - the whole bike shook like a dog shitting in a snowy field whenever I braked.
If yours has Promax rotors on it, which I think it probably does, then swapping them for something less shit instantly solved this problem for me.

I tried about everything, including orher rotors. Now it has xt ice rotors but no difference. Thanks for the advice.

Heh. Press the issue again, see if another 2016 CAADX comes. At some point they’re going to run out of them. ;)
