• Cheers Ruud, can't quite believe it myself. Trusted hands? Maybe... in my mind it's done and look safe, but in reality it'll take a bit of saving, so might be a wee while to get this up to scratch.
Rain finally stopped so i've been out on it the last couple days, getting a feel for the size. It's quick, that's for sure. Perhaps a touch short, but the extra bit of post sorts it out.

    Ghibli, Wallhanger, any Sunnny day.
    Perfection!

    Ftfy

Tenderloin is a good man, B., get good and give good! =))

    Fukdat, I got mine. Nur-nur-na-nur-nur.....

  • Lets have some more, less mysterious pictures B you tease!

  • ...Perhaps a touch short...

    tall lad, aren't ya

  • What a beautiful frame, looking forward to seeing this finished. Also I'm in Exeter Ben, are you local?

  • Hey George, I'm in north Cornwall, so local-ish. Working in London I'm often in, or driving through Exeter. Also, the Old Man lives there, so know it fairly well, so maybe you'll get to see it in the flesh.
I'm planning on cycling from London to Cornwall end of the month and might be tempted by the cider and sausage fest at double locks if it works out. Won't be doing it on a brakeless track bike though.

Lets have some more, less mysterious pictures B you tease!

There's loads of great photos of this frame built up. It's a bit hotch-potch-ey my end. When the wheels are done I'll get some pics sorted.

  • ouch my eyes ... they burn

I think this is the prettiest frame I have seen for a while ;-)

  • Small update time, as a few parts are (finally) starting to trickle through to push this on a bit. Most importantly, a rear hub to get the wheelset build started. Hopefully the spokes will be here tomorrow...

Also, a bargainous Headset and a Cog courtesy of a fellow forumengers

    New Nitto RB010's and plugs

Cometh the paycheck, cometh the front hub and wheelbuild, then it'll be in full Dura Ace, Nitto, NJS dresscode....with err, Italian stem and saddle.

  • Fine taste as usual - got those bars on the Argos and they're a load of fun.

  • I couldn't resist. Heard nothing but good about them. I quite liked the rb002's? (the blue lugXnitto collab) they also had in TFG, but they are a touch too narrow. These 010's feel right and look good, so I might leave them unwrapped.

  • Let me know when it's time for me to take this off your hands...

    :)

  • I've got the 020's in black which I'm sure are quite similar and they're amazing.. That bike's going to be great. Seen a couple on ebay and managed to resist but always regretted it after!

  • Goes without saying really that this is a ridiculously nice frame - one of the very best. You have great taste in bike bits. Leaving the bars unwrapped seems rash though, winter is coming!

  • Glad that cog has found a good home. And what a home!

  • So very jealous. Looking forward to seeing the final build soon!

  • Looks lovely but needs a pink saddle

  • Cheers for the comments guys. I can't disagree, it is a beautiful frame and I too am looking forward to seeing it built up respectfully once more. Not sure if it will be the final build, just my first with it. I have a feeling the C-Record, Shamal, Ghibli dream isn't gonna fade fast. Mind you by the time i can afford any of that my back will be crying out for spacers.

@toby.d - Gloves, right? never without them in the winter.

As for the saddle, the Flite Ti suits it well, but I still keep an eye out for that "decent" pink saddle.

*excellent, my spokes have just turned up.

  • Yeah, fair enough. Could still be slippery when wet? I've never tried it, my justification for mentioning it is really only a cover-up for me suggesting it might look more balanced if they were taped up.

  • Nudging this with a couple recent additions.

A slighty longer 3ttt stem for risers, so I can swap between them and bullhorn set up easily.

and while we are still in "identity crisis mode" a non-period Zen ring.

When funds allow that front DA7700 track hub will be ordered, with spokes and then it's time to pause. Still badly want a rear Shamal Pista.

  • Where did you get those atac pedas ive been looking for some

  • ^
Second hand, when I see them. I don't need the yellow though (in fact would prefer the plain grey) so would swap for another pair (same model) if you are after that specific one.

  • Im just running alliums just now :(! pm me if you find grey ones tho!

  • will do.

  • So, progress report?

  • You still owe us some proper pics of this Ben.

  • ^^ I now have this bike, may aswell just continue this thread.
I traded it with Ben for my Nagasawa, which he sold.
Need to change the grips&saddle(pink?) and find C Rec seatpost and cranks, with the shield on if I can.
Here some quick phone pics. Will take better ones when I get a new camera and it has Campag on it.

Pretty good for an iPhone 4S IMO. Need to strip it and give it a polish, but it's great fun.
With regards to the title this is now in London.
    Enjoy.
