Ed - thats a very nice bike. Probably not something I would ever go for but I have enjoyed watching the build and the thought behind the design. have many fun hours on it.

me too, great thread and a wonderful bike.
i'm sure i'm not the only one thinking that little bit more seriously about a custom frame now. -

That is a lovely looking bike Ed. You must be really pleased with it.
And to think of some of the monstrosities you've built in the past ;-)

This thread fills me with a jealously that I never knew I possessed.
Beautiful, truly stunning. If you die suddenly from say, poisoning, can I have this bike?
If yes, would you like to come round for lunch sometime to iron out the details?
Bah, I love this.

Yep, agreed, never considered this kind of bike and it still isn't something I'd choose to have, but I can appreciate how fucking classy it is.

i don't like the shape of the handlbars (i know they are comfy) and the color of the tape, the rest is great (but not my cup of tea)
-
• #968
Stunning bike. Are you going to shellac (or coat in some way) the
handlebarhandibar tape Ed? -
• #969
Nah, I quite like the soft feel of the cloth when it start to wear in.

eggplant pls.

it still isn't something I'd choose to have
I would. It looks like the kind of bike you could a 200mile ride on without even needing to get off and stretch.
unlike brakeless lo pro track bikes.

Looks great in the flesh, as did all of the Oak bikes, the expedition bike and the 29er are awesome too. Overall one of my favorite builders at Bespoke, just classy, understated builds that looked like they could could cover thousands of miles without a problem.

The total lack of "NAHBS Style Wankery" is one of the nicest things I think- Ed's bike and the other Oaks have not been built as a conceit that will rarely if ever get used, these are bikes designed to be ridden, and will* be.
I am unspeakably jealous that mine was not finished in time.
*Unless Ed sells it to Joe, in which case it'll get pushed to the pub and back.
I don't even need to bring my camera, you already got the great shot that capture the details I loved;
