The end product is the same, exactly what Ed asked for.
Give two builders the same brief, you will get two different bikes.
They are not far eastern factories. There is so much done from scratch that you can spot the 'handwriting' of the builder.

Do you really think...
Yes. I already answered it, and re-phrasing the question hasn't changed the question or the answer.

Tho...I'm particularly pleased with small furrys quote...
Don't worry baba...I'm sure regardless of whether he stays with pink...or wears the princess disney princess outfits...
If he's a Nancy boy,...don't be alarmed....He's going to fuck a lot of everyone...;D regardless of gender...with either their minds....or their bodies......
My post was a bit naff and unserious. As I deleted a lot of boring personal details. Thus kinda missed the point. Basically, hes dressed up in princess dresses on several occasions, in fact whenever he gets the chance. Even his toothbrush is identfiable from his brothers because its pink.
You get all sorts of comments by adults. judging the situation with their adult mind. But feck it. Hes a kid having fun, and expressing himself. I always tell him he looks cool.
Kids need their self confidence reinforced, not misplaced guidance into an adult stereotype.

Look like it's done.
And my Gille Berthoud's Alex Singer handlebar bag arrived today while they're off to Bespoked, oh well!

Lovely :)

I was skeptical about the eggplants bar tape, but I loved it.
Bespoked Bristol, get the fuck out of the way so I can ride it.

Very smart!

It's amazing! It looks like a really well done restoration :)

• #862
Train to Bristol, ride home?
-
• #863
Afraid not, would rather give it one more week for the paint to be fully dry.

y no jaunty saddle angle?
-
• #865
Give it time.

Sceptical as well (colour wise), looks like there are too many accent colours fighting against each others (the tyres, etc...) and that it should be neutral / black. But maybe it looks good in the flesh / better photos / better light...
Bike looks great though, bravo, you could turn up at Alex Singer's shop without fear (the look the guy gave me when he saw me entering with my Brompton!!)

y no jaunty saddle angle?
Don't challenge him, it looks good like that...

Give it time.
This.
Ryan for some reason like his nose down.
Brand new saddle = less jaunty angle.

What's the little stack of locknuts on the headset?
-
• #871
Ed is contractually obliged to use headset spacers on every bike.
-
• #872
I'm not sure why, I would prefer it to be slammed without spacer but I reckon Ryan build this as it is to er on the side of caution.
There was no need for spacer in the first place as the long 57cm ST with it's low bottom bracket reduced the need to have a stack (and the quill obviously).

What's the little stack of
locknutsspacers on the headset?better than cutting the fork down before he's actually ridden it, no?
-
• #874
I prefer Dammit's build. Using modern componentry to enhance a hand-built frame is good IMO. Quill, stems, shit brakes and downtube shifters can follow the chevrons.

low bottom bracket
How does that affect the fit? Surely it just moves the contact points down.
I agree with your reasoning. With that said there are some very poor boobjobs out there.
