I raced last weekend and saw quite a lot of 15/16 year olds on £6k+ road bikes, how on earth are they going to turn in to well-rounded adults???

There were a tonne of kids from VCL at Flanders - most of them on bikes worth in excess of £2,000 - not a single one of them had oil on their chain FFS.

Well its not a real club but one that revolves around a snooty shop. Notorious roadie douchebag who likes big spenders runs the place.

I got the same vibe from the Pinarello concept store here. They charge £100 non refundable deposit for a test ride and an unrealistic idea of prestige of their products and self worth. The shop is run by mamil's who dont even ride bikes and know nothing about them but which judge you as soon as you step in.

I am sure "real" clubs have a different vibe. Ones based a velodromes in particular seem less snooty.

In an attempt to return to Ed's bike..... if only momentarily.....

I saw Ryan and Nik and the nearly done bike last night at Oak HQ.
I have to report that it is looking great and so very nearly there. I understand it it is go to Bespoke Bristol, so anyone heading down there do check it and another couple of Oak bikes out.

Speaking as an Oak owner - you are in for a truly great bike Ed.
