Anything going sideways is referred to as frame ends in catalogues, but if Shelton said it....

@absurdbird...
I'm in the market for some kind of adjuster for a rear mafac on the Mercian mixte... I think it needs to be in line at the top of the cable end (top end of the toptubes)... perhaps you can help me figure it out some time?

Touché! If Peter and Sheldon say it, it must be true. The pedant strikes again...
-

I thought that 'end' was for front and track specifically but also English cycling nomenclature/slang for all wheel attaching points like block, mech etc.
-
• #482
My thinking is more of describing the location of the part rather than the name of the part, i.e. rear end horizontal drop out.
-
• #483
But what about fork end? End of the blade?
-
• #484
Fork end front drop out.

Connector-less hubs have arrived finally with a £11 custom charge (plus £8 handling fees)
Velo Orange rims in 32h will arrived sometime next week, as well as a rear 105 hubs, because I can't get the Pacenti rims anytime soon due to the distributor no longer bringing more in, the VO should do for now till I can get the Pacenti with a Chris King rear hubs.
Good news for my girlfriend whom needed the old 650b rims that Ryan currently have.
-
• #487
How come you don't just roll on with the old pair for now?
-
• #488
front is a 32h hubs, the old wheelset is 36h.
idea is to replace the g/f wheel with a 32h one and sell the 36h touring set (she's like 53kg).

Mmm Edelux.
I think I'm going to get myself an SP.

Brilliant, the Pacenti PL23 can be brought, ordered a pair and should be here in two weeks.
Shaved off a nice 366g off the pair* from the Velo Orange, also tubeless ready too allowing even lower pressure.

UK supplier? They have 700 too?
-
• #492
Yep, pricey thought, just riding along is their supplier.

Enve rims are a bargain though

I'm getting impatient here ed!

It's being send off to be painted, which is killing me after remembering how long it took for Henry to get his frame painted.
Since this will be my everyday bike, selling my Genesis CdF which have been a hell of a bike, that'll be replaced with a Cannondale.
-
• #496
So what's your stable going to look like for 2013? I'm getting confused.
Oak 650B - for day to day
Cannondale ? - for road riding?
Dolan - for fixed
???

Oak 650B - for day to day/audax/weekend ride/touring
Cannondale CAAD8 for road riding/weekend/ultralight touring.
Tokyo Fixed Dream Machine - Fixed version of the 650B.
Brooklyn Machine Work Gangsta - Fixed version of the Cannondale.Don't have the Dolan, sold that too.

So daily 650B, road, and a fixed?
Sorry if I'm being nosey. I'm just currious as to what you've got at the moment.
I fear I'm going to have to downsize to just my road and one fixed (moving in with GF).

Sold the MTB too, trying to get rid of everything, only got three more frame to go (and one for Vesalius that got a very short top tube).

What about the gangsta?
