Pretty sure it's an old Shimano 105 sidepull:

Or just use two rolls of cheap tape (sellotape vs. masking?) and practice on a broom handle?

This takes the geekiness to a whole new level. I am very impressed.

^^ what is that bell/mushroom please
It is a wooden bell. It goes "tok", not very loudly. I imagine it would work very well in Japan, where they are made. Here, I find clearing my throat is generally more effective.

When Roberts built my bike I was literally in awe of the neatness of the bar wrapping. It still confuses me how they manages to get it so neat and symmetrical.
-
• #67
Well this thread just highlights how shite the wrapping I did is! Cut it the wrong way when finishing for some reason - and the bar end doesn't sit properly!!

I looks like it, the red strip will just have been covered up by the overlap, so it is (very fortunately) out of sight.
-

that's the correct way of wrapping it guys...
so you get the red showing through the holes...

I've got some old drops kicking about you can have if you like. I'd only make pennies if I could be arsed selling them anyway and I'm loving this thread.
