is it not just a bonded carbon frame, with a carbon 'fairing' over bits of it?
that's how i thought they worked anyway. -

ive been told that early carbon frames had bonded carbon tubes to alloy headtubes , bb's and dropouts and that it could be one like that, ive done a bit of googling and emailed ciocc themselves. no reply yet........ anyone any links to any collectors or guys in shops that would know ?

actually , remembering putting the headset and bb in , it could just have alloy inserts bonded in the carbon frame where the headset sits and bb screws in.

Carbon? wow, it all looked so metally - 'cept the webbed bits, obviously.
its carbon. id love to know excatly whats under the paint myself. it looks like alloy headset and bb. spent ages flicking and lightly tapping with a small spanner on the tubes trying to work out whats carbon and whats alloy by listening to the different sounds. theres only one place where you can see where ally ends and carbon (or more alloy??) starts.
about two inches from the bb shell ,on both tubes you can see a black line that goes around the whole tube .
worried ? yes i am. are these new. or been there after the things first couple of years of life. are they just pressure cracks in the paint where the frame has been bonded together ? or what ?
mr hoops ? anyone?
