  • As an occasional scooterist now, I wholly support motorcycles in bus lanes.

  • I will be documenting your response here

Yeah, but an Add Lee person registered to give a reasoned response to some of our complaints, and confronting this thread and the many episodes in which people declare that Add Lee are ****s and ******s and ******* decided against saying anything publicly at all.

You could reasonably expect them to preclude that they are unlikely to get a fair and reasonable interaction with you, and that silence is perhaps a better way of responding in this specific incident than anything else that they could do.

I'm really not sure we do ourselves favours when as a group we aren't reasonable. But then, perhaps it's unreasonable for me to expect that groups ever could be.

  • Today I managed to steer a sizable group of sweet little old ladies away from booking AL cars to chauffeur them around for their outing and instead convinced them to use Premier Cars.
Not sure how much business will be lost for AL (10+ cars maybe?) but in a boycott every little helps.

I'd tend to agree with this. The best option is to appear to be reasonable at not appear to be too emotionally-driven by being hostile to AL.

Then again, when it's actually me getting cut up I feel a bit differently in the heat of the moment.

  • at least i did not direct them to the "c*nt of the day" thread

  • This thread isn't much better .
I must admit that we both get a bit carried away when this started DJ. More mindfulness wouldn't have gone amiss

  • Users no 1 and 2 were the first people to use the f and c words.

I agree with this. Calling Addison Lee & John Griffin names aren't going to get the outcome you want, it's just ego-tripping.

  • And the first to come to our senses
(what's with this users 1and 2 stuff DJ. you making some point?)

  • I think the rest of us were just following our numerical leaders!

    Watch your parking meters, DJ.

  • Ha!
Yes DJ you work for a cooperative and belong to this amorphous conglomerate of mavericks. You are rudderless

  • Users no 1 and 2 were the first people to use the f and c words.

Not true. And it would've taken you only 10 seconds to see.

But hey, don't let that get in your way.

  • you used the f word first, and iirc no 2 used the c word after that, but there has been some later editing of the thread (unless i used the c word first but given all the editing i can't even remember now)

  • This isn't helping DJ
    Whats the point?.

Addison Lee bought Premier cars about 2 years ago.... (or at least one outfit called premier cars, there may be a few)

  • I just called them up about this, and no, the company called Premier Airport Cars are not owned by Addison Lee. But AL seems to run something called Premier VIP cars so good point.

  • Ah cool, that's ok then lol

Couldn't find who it was last night, lo and behold i find the link now i don't need it :D

  • I couldnt give a rats ass if they are starting to retract and grovel. Run em out of business. They are only changing their tune because people are closing accounts.

I agree, they will always have the same views and feelings towards cyclists and use of the bus lanes regardless of any apology or U-turn. It's too easy to apologise and move on, people should feel the brunt of the repercussions caused by their actions. Maybe then will we have less ignorant and oblivious people occupying our fair lands, if John Griffin felt a substantial dent to his profits and the credibility of his company for a period of time thus forcing him to re-establish his companies credibility do you not think he would think twice about his actions?

  • Do any other cab companies have an app I can use to summon and pay for a cab when I'm too inebriate to use my tongue or legs effectively?

  • Halo

  • It's Hailo.

  • Cheers Ed

  • Wow, though not sure if this is just a standard email response as I am not actually an Addison Lee customer.

    Dear Mr. Dancing James,

    Thank you for your email.

I firstly would like to take this opportunity to apologise for the inconvenience caused by the driver.

With reference to the points you have raised in your email, In line with our internal disciplinary procedure, we have noted your complaint on the driver’s record and this has been referred to our Driver Liaison Manager.

Given the seriousness of this complaint, the driver in question will be made inactive and summoned into our offices. The driver will be interviewed regarding the incident and if deemed necessary, retrained at our Driver Training School. This is not the standard of performance we expect from a driver representing Addison Lee.

I totally accept and understand that no employee of Addison Lee should be behaving in this manner with any of our customers. Any such disciplinary investigation could lead to dismissal. Due to data protection, I am unable to disclose the outcome of this disciplinary but I can confirm as part of it the driver has been reminded of what is expected of any driver representing Addison Lee and the high standards we demand of our fleet. This type of behaviour will not be tolerated.

We appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention, as without this we will not be able to continue and improve the level of service we provide.

I apologise for the inconvenience caused and if you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.

    Kind regards
