sigh
Ken's going to get it isn't he?
-
• #305
I don't know. How's his spelling?
-

Pretty sure Boris has it in the bag. Hence why he's not even trying. Sadly. Will be voting Green, second choice Ken.

Im afraid although i can't stand him, i'll actually be a teeny bit less annoyed if Ken gets it over Boris this time. And i never thought id type those words.
Kit Malthouse's rant about Jeremy Hunt affair and phone hacking at weekend when he was the one who actually told Met police to back off just made me want to explode and I'm now sick of the lot of them.....fucking tories are shocking.
1) Green
2) Still not sure whether to 'hold my nose' and vote Ken or will go indy -

As mayor, Ken Livingstone publically embraced this man and invited him to speak at various seminars representing multi-diversity. Livingstone has since said that he doesnt totally agree with this man on Israel. Great, but I dont want the mayor of London pushing people like this to the forefront of public visibility. I'm loath to link to the Daily Mail but this really is notable for how anti-Boris and his "Cycling Mayor" credentials it is.
Attitudes in the 4th estate to cycling and cyclists seem to be shifting seismically across the board. That's actually a really well-written article. You can tell she doesn't normally write for the Mail.

I'm voting for
John Livingston SeagullKen Livingstone. I like his I'm-a-cunt-so-fuck-you attitude. Seriously though, I think he knows the job better than anyone and will do the best for public transport, which is my main interest to tell the truth. Voting for green is all well and good - it's important that the issues they raise have prominence - but I reckon London would utterly poo its pants if they got in. Hence green will get my second vote. -

One day before the actual elections, forum voting sees Jenny Jones (63 first preference votes) and Ken Livingstone (25 first preference votes) proceed past the first round.
In the second round, Jones adds 25 second preference votes to her total (bringing it to 88) and Livingstone adds 48 (for his total of 73.
The other candidates can only be described as also-rans. Obviously, we didn't include the three other candidates in the poll, but Brian Paddick (2 first preference/12 second preference votes) and Boris Johnson (16/7) are very far off the pace of Livingstone and Jones.
So, get voting, forum. This poll (as opposed to the real one) closes tomorrow night at 22:08. Then we'll have a total.
Whatever the eventual forum end result tomorrow, it'll probably be a fairly unrepresentative outcome along the lines of the above, unless lots of Conservative and Lib Dem spammers join and vote en masse. :)

Actually, given that Jenny is on over 50% (56.14% at time of writing) there is no second round.
Jenny wins.

I thought that might be the case--was just about to look it up.

Better to vote Green for the London-wide assembly members or vote Jen first then Ken, so whoever wins poos their pants next time to try and win the green vote.

Johnson is a fucking ridiculous ego, deeply right-wing and a total bell-chief.
Depressing just how many people think they're voting against personality politics and the ego candidate by voting for Johnson. It's the opposite you sad sacks.
All bullshit, no substance.17 people on here voting for that plank? FFS
I'm off to the Depression thread... -
