  • I love Geneva, I love polo. I am in Oslo a couple of days before so we might fly down to Geneva and watch/drink/party

  • Crazy Canucks, Guardians, and Just Say Mo have already been given their spots.

NAH are getting organised early so that some teams can book flights earlier, meaning a higher chance of meeting the 16 spots they have been given.

Their system, I believe is to give spots to those that come first in the regional qualifiers and one for the Canucks. Leaving 8 spots to be battled for at the NA Champs. Although it is compulsory to attend the NAs if a team wants to take their spot at the worlds.

    Pretty cool.

    sounds like a great system

  • Yep. If we have a regional qualifying system next year, we should do the same thing. And Call Me Daddy should get an automatic world spot this year. Then again, they will probably get it anyway, and aren't exactly far from Geneva.

  • Travel is now starting to go up in price people, think about booking now if you're training/planing.

    BA flights are currently £180
EasyJet is around £180 too (with bike luggage added)
Eurostar is £180 odd (all the way)
Eurostar to Paris and TGV to Geneva is around £150

On Monday the Eurostar trains (all the way) were £120 odd and flights were £150, the seats are running out and prices are changing accordingly... Eurostar and TGV currently seems the best option (TGV tickets are plentiful, but the Eurostar tickets are now going up in price).

A "super cheap" option currently would be to ride to Paris and then TGV to Geneva. Around £80 for the Paris to Geneva TGV (return): http://www.raileurope.co.uk/

  • oh dear! need to book this soon...

  • sweet. I wonder how many courts...

  • Three.

  • are they the same courts from the euros?

  • Kinda, but made as large as possible.

Either 2 courts @ 18x36m and 1 court @ 22x32m, or 2 courts @ 15x37m and 1 court @ 15x32m. (Hackney Downs size or marginally bigger, I believe the second smaller sized courts are identical to the Euros 2010 setup.)

Clement's CAD drawing had additional tiered seating and more stalls/stands to their Euros setup, they'll pull out all the stops I imagine.

  • Larger court is on the right on picture, the two other are in the middle and on the left.
Courts gonna be wooden this year (not plastic as 2010) to make them higher and more flexible in size. We gonna try to make them as wider as possible, so we gonna probably have to allow only player the get on the grass way on the back ( in 2010 the whole way was free, this year we want to enlarge the courts on this way). Public gonna be behind the fences.
2 courts 18x36m and 1 court @ 22x32m. This is what we gonna make if we fill waters drain up with cement.

And this: " 15x37m and 1 court @ 15x32m " is kind of the same larger as 2010, but with some extra 30 or 50 cm on any size because we need less space for structures if we use wood instead of plastic.

  • Sounds good! Hope that you are allowed to fill the drains as that would be a great size.

  • By the way, in 2010, a building was in construction behind courts, this year we just gonna occupy this shit! They call that a neighbour space (Espace de Quartier), and the city lend us the whole 2 first levels. No more stupid security guard for restrooms, full access to professional kitchen, 3 or 4 room for computers and stuff. Wifi and cable internet connection, possible access to the roof (as in the pictures) for some pictures or live cameras. We just had a meeting today and they book us the whole stuff for the entire week... this is just great!
