  • Great day out, good to see/meet you all.

Hope the leg heals up fast Andy...

  • Sadly Andrew was not the only slam of the day, Theo clipped the wheel in front and left a little knee and elbow skin behind in the resulting tumble. From accounts received he fell and rolled with great grace.

Indeed, he curled up nice and tight and was back on his feet with bike in hand in one continuous movement! Top marks.

The cat at the Raven was also an epic f̶o̶o̶l̶/̶f̶a̶l̶l̶faill, got stuck in a tree and then fell out it into the beer garden.

Apparently the cat was unhurt but covered in greenfly!

  • Is there a car in that photo? Difficult to make out...

  • Great day, well done to everyone who completed the full slam.

  • Much rep.

  • The car had moved by the time I took the photo.....

Anyway, first opinion from Sigma is that the frame, forks, front wheel, handlebars, saddle, headset and left shifter will almost definitely need replacing.
The rear mech might just need a repair...

So that leaves me with a crankset, bottom bracket, rear wheel and brakes.

Good thing I've got decent insurance.

    Happy fucking monday everyone!

  • Sorry to hear that the bike sustained that much damage.

  • Good thing I've got decent insurance.

Good luck with it, i'm actually interested to hear how evans insurance will deal with it.

What's with all ninja edits in this thread?
    Did Dom say something?

How many claims have you made?

  • None so far. Only 1 week left on the policy too...

    Lucky or what?!

  • How many claims have you made?

    afaik - none

  • Didn't you claim when it was scoused from a shed?

    Pic or gtfo

  • you have insured it though only for the original purchase price
i can't see any luck in that

Bike written off in last week of policy due to collision with stationary car... I suspect someone at insurace HQ will be looking closely at this one.

    But seriously, heal fast dude!

Insurance companies are there to do their damnedest to not pay out. I wish you the best of British and all that...

Lucky would have been not hitting the car. I suppose this is pretty much the second best option tho.

Heal up fast and good luck with the claim.

  • Insured for £1400 (updated to reflect addition of the RS80's)

The frame, forks and front wheel will only just push past half of that max. value I would think

  • Colonel Gaddafi's got more chance of re-insurance than you have.

  • and he's dead

  • In the event, it seems the Catford massive didn't escape the gravity pull of Rosie's bbq.

    Oops...

    Sorry:-(

    We failed. BBQ was amazing.

  • SE representation fail

  • Insurance companies are there to do their damnedest to not pay out. I wish you the best of British and all that...

Yeah I used to work for a couple, they have a checklist with different points to measure the 'dodginess' of the claim... Last/first week of policy was definitely one of them; not sure about hitting a stationary object though, that sounds fairly common

  • Got multiple photos of the injury though - find it hard to believe that they'd honestly suspect someone of risking permanently crippling themselves for a bike they would then never be able to use...

.... if my leg *had *broken a 2nd time around, I would be ROYALLY screwed.
