I was looking at other options too and with the same result.

What a bummer.
There is a super casual camp site at wooton called kite hill.
It's one of the check points. Cheap and all you need.
Smiff and co. stayed there couple of years ago.
Doubt its closed as its on a slope. -

Guys I've had a look for alternative accommodation and there's nothing super cheap that's immediately obvious.
I suggest that we do our own Randonnee at some other time when the weather improves.
What do you all think?
I agree. Bummer though.

I'm going to cancel my group tickets now. There is a cancelation fee of £10 (so £2.50 pp) Aram I'll PayPal you £38.70 once I'll will get the refund if that's ok?
According to the website I should get it back by the 8th of May.(as Raymund never paid for his ticket. I'll cover his £2.5 cancelation fee)

I agree on picking some other weekend. Its a really nice idea, but the weather has been dire. In addition to any camp ground being a slippery, muddy mess, I am not a huge fan of riding around on wet roads.
I'm gonna go get a refund for the train tickets I bought.

I'll take the tenner hit for Jayloo and DeLights, you can buy me a can of beer sometime.

I agree. Had a look too and couldn't find anything.
In terms of our own randonnee, Tipis seem to be pretty much booked up for most of the summer, bar the next couple weeks. September looks fairly open though. We could plan to see if we can organise a group then? Probably similar weather to May (hopefully minus all the rain)

Nice, thanks Kevin. I do say we all keep the same list and just try to reschedule for like, a month out. This seems like a super fun ride and at that point maybe Dropout will be able to get the time off?

Good plan. Shame to miss it, but I don't really fancy doing it as a day trip.
-
• #186
Kite Hill camping is a good bet for a reschedule.
-
• #187
I'm up for a (hopefully sunny) reschedule. I was thinking of bailing on this one due to weather and other factors anyway.

• #188
Shame about this, but thanks for all the hard work Tanya and peeps!
Plus the weather is hella deppressing! Spent a few hours standing in the cold and miserable continual rain at Hillingdon circuit yesterday watching a training session.
Definitely think a reschedule is in order! -

Now let's hope this thread can get back to the build up and excitement for those of us still going. A week today! hoping the rains will ease and the isle will be bathed in glorious sunshine and a light tail wind that follow us round the island . #everanoptimist -

Since I'm out, Kevin will have an extra groupsave ticket. Does anyone want it?
That's a shame. Was looking forward to riding with some forum people. Seems a lame excuse from the tipi people, aren't there any static caravan sites?
I gather habbi mentioned doing it as a day trip.
I'm on the 1030 train from waterloo if anyone is still planning to go
