We still only have 2 courts (unless we do a group in North London). That was barely enough for 13 team round robin last year.

Also. (you know who you are) ... should a team be able to field a player that has played in a previous qualifier for another team in another country irregardless of their success at said qualifier?
For eg, Kiko from Elclub last year being drafted in to a german team.

Shame it's not over two days on two courts..

For obvious reasons (as you allude to) I'll stay out of that discussion, take it up with Ben.

They have qualified from the pre-qualifiers, they still have to play in the main qualifier.

In the past the 2 of 3 rule has come into effect, so two players can effectively take their spot and not list the third until the day of the tournament.

However, taking on foreign third players that have already tried to qualify (in fact, using non-LPC players at all), or taking on sand bagging team mates to secure your team a spot are big no-nos. The UKHBPA should probably make a decision on these things before they become issues.

Yes, the UKHBPA should make a decision. Personally I really don't care which way we decide (in my mind there are cases for having 1 non-UK player, such as your sub situation, you probably won't find an available UK player of the same standard who isn't already in a team).

The NAH model is very different as spots are dynamic and go to the best teams (unless they have already been awarded a spot), their system is superior to be honest. Country allocation is a poor substitute.

I meant all UK teams feature UK "scene" players (players that play in the UK normally), I was trying to avoid the nationality thing and made it sound confusing, cross-city teams are no problem (never have been).

And +1 on them having a better model.

I hope for next year we have a regional qualifying system.

If someone took a player who already qualified on another team, different country, and used that player as a sub, they would be major fucking assholes. All of them. That is a fact.
