Harvey goes freewheel.
True, I was inspired by the stylish play last weekend. Especially Dead Rappers, Black Stabbath and Nice Touch amongst others.
I have been receiving such positive support and counselling from Luca and Frax. Thanks guys XXX. Seemed a good time to change over with no tournaments for a while and Get in Wild not around at the moment.Any advise on brake set up or practice drills gladly received . Can't seem to hop so quickly backwards now :-(

Anyone want to get together to watch the NAHBPC this weekend?
I guess the games will start mid afternoon UK time, and go until until late evening.

I can't believe this, especially after your mad trackstand skillz when you dropped your mallet and remained in goal like a boss. You won't be able to hop back so quick, but that sweet trick you do where you stop people going round the goal by hopping backwards only works in cambs where the goals are super close to the wall, so shouldn't matter too much. -

The positives hugely outweigh the negatives however.

ftfy.
I reckon a rear brake helps with backwards hops. You can pivot up on the rear a bit and move backwards like some trials star. Much easier to do with two hands on the bars though, so maybe of little use.
The best thing about giving up fixed is people will stop ditching you in goal all game long.

All joking aside, I rate RV as an unexpectedly fast outfield player with the ability to score goals. Too often people focus on his inherent goalieying skills and keep him there. He's caught me out a few times because I didn't anticipate his ability.

I rate Harvey highly! Mobile, strong & got a great shot.

I reckon a freewheeled hopping goalie is more effective than a fixed goalie; When Boagey sits in goal facing out rather than across the goal, it's hard not to bounce your shot against his front wheel, whereas a fixed goalie still needs support from team mates to cover the gap in the middle.

Freewheel is great for maintaining a speed without moving allowing you to concentrate on other things.
Fixed gives you great slower speed control and easier balance control.... granted if you can learn to do this freewheel, hopping rolling back etc. you can get really good at it.Fixed attack is a bit all or nothing or a bit slow and controlled.
Freewheel = soaring flowing movement
fixed = a bit clumsy and limited (says fixed player) -

I see guys on fixed gears in town sometimes. Really like the look of it. It's like their at one with the road. How do you make your bike fixed?

So funny when I told people why I always played freewheel and they play fixed, they came up with all these "advantages" etc. Now all freewheel!
