You stirring the warm beer?
Nope. Fixed magazine is involved with the Hunt Crit and just don't want it to get a bad rep due to negative things that are said on this thread.

Repost... ;)

I was down at the course for the training 2 weeks ago and if you are racing, I recommend getting some high gearing!
on that day someone rode with 48 x 13 and had a lap time of 2:18 with an average of 26mph...

Other examples of gearing were:
46 x 16 - 2:25 average of 24mph
48 x 17 - 2:36 average of 22mphYou need a gearing that you can push comfortably at high speed for 40+ minutes...

This sounds like a blast to me.
That is all.

Andy - whilst I respect your attempts to protect the image of this event I think there are two things to bear in mind;
- I think most people are intelligent enough to distinguish between this event and the shit on here.
- That said, if a promoter is prepared to accept the 5th Floor as one of their sponsors, and the logo on the promotional flyer suggest they are, then maybe they should think twice about this, as the aforementioned cretins have a track record of infantile, internet hardmen behaviour.

The track/course is easily ridden at speed, but could be quite dangerous if there is a pack riding at speed.

If someone served *me *a warm beer, I would make a point of calling them at the time.
Just sayin'...
Unless it's an ale of course, in which case it's not meant to be cold. My only gripe about LMNH is the ales are always too cold cause they are left in the fridge.

One question - If there is the need to race track bikes on a road bike circuit, is there also the need to race road bikes on a velodrome?

^ Isn't that the fundamental problem?

Every tuesday night at Herne Hill, if you are that way inclined.

Thank you.
yes they are. I don't mean to offend anyone's intelligence. I just don't want anyone to write this event off because there are some people there that they might not want to bump into. I would like as many forum members to be there as possible. This community (lfgss) is an important part of our Fixed gear/single speed scene. I don't want anyone to feel like they can't go.
I think the promoter is aware of this, so who knows what will happen. They do read this forum after all.
:)

Training, not racing no? I prefer form and function all rolled together really so I think I will give it a miss.

Of course. But if you are new to this. It is a fundamental piece of knowledge...
