• Just got the email about this through TFG mailing list. Does sound like it'd be fun but with my knee in it's current state there's no chance of me entering, particularly if there's no brake to help me out, haha. I have a feeling, as events go, it may be a little undersubscribed.

  • Interesting links. That 59mph average seems achievable.................

If it's fine with road pedals and 170mm cranks then it'll be even less likely for pedal strike on track bikes with raised BBs and 165mm cranks - I guess?

  • the legendary "Fish" has entered, good luck everybody else.

How will he get on with no stops for checkpoints?

  • I might like to watch the spectacle that will be the 'sprint finish'

    Fingers crossed they race anti-clock

  • I might like to watch the spectacle that will be the 'sprint finish'

You think there will be a group which stays together!?

  • There'll be drafting with precision down to millimetres, so at the end it'll be peloton groupé. Natch.

  • I'm going to attempt to tag along until the very end then hope my weeks of squats come in handy...

  • I see HoKe's name on the list, and I enjoy riding with him. But I don't want to put my name on the list because it'll make me look like [more of] a tosser.
    Dilemma.

  • I got pressure by Sumo last night and eventually folded...

  • damn straight. You better sign up too, Tom. It will be an easy win for you guys against tryhard hipsters (5th floor)

  • ...I don't want to put my name on the list because it'll make me look like [more of] a tosser.

Not to anyone that matters. If you want to race - do it.

  • Tom if you sign up i can be your lead out man! =p

  • Vice versa and you know it, I've got no sprint on me.

  • So your signing up then? Sumo you too!

  • I don't have a track bike

  • I've got a spare/ use the Dasia.

  • I can't get the time off work.

  • Fingers crossed they race anti-clock

    It's gonna be clockwise.

  • Who's Fish?

  • Who's Fish?

Courier from Amsterdam. He organized the WCMC course in Warsaw and also he's ridden two Red Hook Crits. Does a lot of track cycling and is a fucking beast.

  • Has anybody yet had the chance to ride the course? How was it?

  • There's a ride there this Sunday. People are meeting at 11:00 and someone is leading out a group from the Tokyo Fixed shop at 10:00.

  • I went out on Sunday for a blast. There are some corners, but they aren't that tight and the track is much wider than I thought it would be. Even in damp conditions the surface seemed pretty grippy and I didn't get anywhere near pedal strike. I was using 46x14 and it felt good to me. Looking forward to this!
