I think Matt and T-V should be fine. The word on the street is that both of them can spin. I've done it on 59" (Sam probably remembers the whirring red oversocks on the way to Shere).
Looks like I'd best swap my 16t for a 17t, and get back to the gear of mutual oral pleasure.

I used that pretty much all last year, it's nice for the commute. Will be going up to 44/17 for summer, giving a gentlemanly 68GI. Having done no more than my regular commute all winter this won't be happening for at least another month.

- Joe Smiff (joining 1909 train at Clapham Junction)
Usual meet spot at the Peaslake turn-off on the top of Pitch Hill. BMMF will lead the 2nd group - they'll probably catch the the gp 1 stragglers (me) before the meet. Sam & Donna - your call on what group to join.
Amended as to let the chasing group be smaller (and hopefully less prone to problems). If we get any sh*t at Waterloo then we'll switch up 8 on earlier train and 12 on the later train in the hope that the crowds die down slightly.
If anyone wants to switch with me to the first group due to tired legs/eagerness feel free.

No ride leader for this one – there’s plenty in the group who know the route and things will get strung out on the climbs anyway. Normal tnrc love all round - regroup at the top of hills, stop for punctures/mechanicals and a sprint from Ranmore to the pub. There are a few tricky turns around Peaslake and Leith Hill where people have slipped off-route before, so if there’s a big gap behind, mark the turn for the next rider. bmmf and the usual faces will no doubt be setting a nice tempo on the slopes, so if you’re new to the route probably best not to go off the front… I’m happy to backstop – no largesse involved, just out of sorts on the hills.
We had a bit of hassle on the first train out of Waterloo last time, so a low key approach to boarding would be good – ones and twos rather than en masse, spread out on the platform, keep the bikes out of the way etc, you know the deal. Any problems on train 1 and we can bump a few to the 2nd. They never tie up the groups for GS tickets. See y'all tomorrow - big skies and badgers.

Avoid the carriage nearest to the barriers. It's always shit.

By the way, IKEA have been doing something about bedwetting.

^ that light won't do.

I take it everyone knows the meeting point is on the south side of that little shop bit near platforms 1-5…?
-
• #292
Pah. Seems I'm way too late for this one. Bring on the Widowmaker.
And throw in Barhatch too.
Have fun.

Impressive lack of bedwetting, don't be shy now.

I put new brake pads and a new tyre on last night. Nothing to do with descending nerves at all.
(actually, having climbed Whitedown on saturday I'm not exactly relishing going the other way)

Are you going to ride back to Wimbledon Scobes?
-
• #300
Possibly, depend on how it go, Just realised my bike fitting is at 4:30, and generally last 2 hours, but since he got all the data from my previous fitting, I reckon I can make it to Waterloo.
Like your thinking Sam...
