Hi John. If you follow that series of post a little further I reached that very conclusion, the price is very fair. As someone very new to the sport I'm still finding out the lay of the land; it's certainly more niche than anything else I've been involved in and that's reflected in kit availability across the board. I've certainly got no problem with an admin fee and what is a very modest donation to the LHBPA. The reason I went looking directly was more concerning postage and the fact that as I'm not working I'm having to be an ultra tight wad at the moment. If it wasn't the case that we had players heading down to the big smoke in the next few days it could have gotten a bit awkward but as it is everything is good.
Hopefully as the scene grows there will be more designs and suppliers and perhaps a UK distribution system will evolve. It would be great for both players and small manufacturers to be able to web order through existing channels like we can for standard bike parts. Maybe as Manchester grows we can take a role in this process and act as a hub for NW players in much the way the London crew do at the moment.
Many thanks for making this kit available in the UK and for all your help so far.
Chris.

Right, so as we're not placing one big order to be posted to us, can everyone place their orders for poles etc via the LHBPA shop: http://www.lhbpa.org/shop/
Follow the instructions on the page and please add a note to John that you are ordering from Manchester and whether you want Salman to collect or have you order collected from Bristol
I've just Fucked this up myself, you need to add you special instruction to the field which asks for your LFGSS username, on the top right of the paypal page
(PLEASE ONLY ASK SALMAN TO COLLECT IF YOU HAVE TO HAVE BEFORE BRISTOL)* He's doing us a big favour so please respect that and don't expect him to carry everyones stuff back from London*
Anyone who doesn't have Paypal please say so here and we can arrange something.
***Once you've paid ***John can you add to this list, what you've ordered and if you want Salman to collect or Collect (or have collected for you) in Bristol

Who's up for the Cambridge bench minor? Possibly the last chance to play some warehouse polo, they want team lists sometime soon.

also suggested this thursday we only play team games, if you aren't in a team get in one for the night. Thoughts?

I read the thread and Robs comments about getting some of the new crew down there. Being one of those noob folks I can see pros and cons. It would be great to get some tourney play but at the same time I know I'm nowhere near ready for the level of play many of those teams might bring. Last thing I want to do is hurt other players or set a bad rep for MCR via my inexperience. But then we all have to start somewhere.
In terms of getting us noobs into the scene a regional friendly might be the best way forwards? We could have experienced / noob teams from each area, maybe with an experienced player as mentor on each noob team. Maybe we could put out some feelers to Liverpool / Sheffield / Leeds and see if they are in a similar situation and would be interested.

Sheffield have polo, t'other places don't. At this rate it's gonna be me and some newer guys anyway. I wouldn't worry about giving mcr a bad rep, I've been helping to ruin it over the last year anyway. There will be other cities there that ain't been playing as long anyway, places like Southampton and Frome might be there, we'll do some winning whatevs

I would like to join bike to bike polo games but I don't have a bike yet. Is it possible? I want to learn how to play first also. Where is the court where you meet? is it in moss side powerhouse? I would like to come around any day
I'm more than happy to put you in contact with the relevant suppliers. Yes we are more expensive than buying directly, that's just to cover costs and a 10% profit which goes straight back into the LHBPA (no-one makes any money on it).
If you buy direct, and it's less work it's great for me, but if you do want to buy off us then that's great too.
