  • i'm sure ste said that there are some nights apart from thursday that the pf lights are still on? If not perhaps ask them about tuesdays?

  • the surface on manley is too bad to play on imo

  • I've been looking at that thread, think I'm gonna have to get on the solo polo

  • i practice dribbling skills in my kitchen

  • the surface on manley is too bad to play on imo

Yeah thought so... was Alex park lit.. i only played there once or twice....

  • not lit, but nice smooth surface. Would be good throughout spring. I really like playing on whitworth in the summer. I still think powerhaus is the best court in MCR despite the fence issues

  • i practice dribbling skills in my kitchen

Remind me not to eat round yours

  • Manchester stepped it up in Cambridge

    Fully! Well done guys.
You're all welcome around mine again any time. Next time though i'll get some bacon and beer in.

    Another item for your to-do...
: Get a season ticket for the Manchester - Cambridge train.

  • New Polo bike this week.... Fuck Yeah

    You'll see why.....

  • we were taliknig about doing whitworth up abit for the summer, bleach and clean the court, concrete the gaps up and brick up the holes at each end a few bricks high i think we should get started in april maybe?

  • I can help on friday daytimes but will have my kid with me, she's good with bleach though

  • cheers Yoav..... we need to find out more about ways of doing this....

another thing to add to my list was something that Ste mentioned in the car yesterday: setting up a UK wide Polo-Wiki, one that coould contain all useful info relating to Polo, from mallet making to tournament bracketing formats to how to aproach council/sponsors to getting indooor polo spaces (charity status not-for-profit etc...)

sounded like a good idea to me ...

    My idea!

  • It's beeing mentioned in the other threads but thought I would suggest it here. We need a new years meeting of MHBPA. Let's put some of the sillyness that happened behind us. After the weekend in Cambridge I think we all know what Manchester needs to be doing with itself!

. We need to talk about the possible velodrome tourney.
.Talk about Arcadia, starting or getting invovled in the movement that is trying to keep it open . . Register as a charity? maybe ask Jono about this

Meet in Whitworth as it is a bit cheaper than SB and easier to take up that whole top space?

seen the whitworth court recently? the red surface is no more.

  • What's their Scott???

  • come on scott, spill the beans..

  • The red surface is just gone, just the black crap from underneath remains I think.
Last time I looked, was like 2 months ago.

  • Awesome... Now we just need to get our hi vis jackets on and give it a layer of concrete and we've got a perfect court for the summer..

I'll go have a look after work tomorrow if I have time Pre-polo...

  • And yes... The wiki idea was woody's...

  • not that i know much but councils normally have a list of unsued buildings that your allowed to ask about under the freedom of infomation act.

there was an art gallery in brighton for a short time, in an old record office i think. and there was somethign about as it was an old council buildings they have to allow it to have a use if one comes along (my memory of this is shady)

my point is, if there is an old school hall or equivalent available then we could probably get it, spesh if we are a charity/non profit organization.

Levy baths have been saved, whoop! Dunno what this means for arcadia however, guess they will still be looking for new management, so we should be trying to find out who that's likely to be and get in with them

  • who's out tonight...?
