ive entered this discussion at a pretty late time, but have been working flat out all week. hence not showing up for polo on thursday as well (sorry neil, you'll get your money sunday, provided i've not gotta work again. if so, i'll get someone to pay you for me and give it back asap. or bank transfer).
so if we enter into tiered play, who's going to decide when someone is skilled enough to join the big boys (not just woody)? and will there in effect be less time set aside for new players? id be a bit fucked off if i started a new sport, paid to play and someone then told me i was only allowed to play for an hour on thursday evening and sunday mornings. personally, with my shitty work schedule, which is only going to get worse, i cant commit to any one session a week and so probably wouldnt be able to attend the newbie sessions.
another day a week would solve a lot of problems, i reckon. but would PH be up for that?

new people wouldn't be paying anything and still getting an hour of floodlights.
they can also play saturday mornings and all day sunday that's 3 times a week.
and tbh there's nothing stopping people goin for a knock around with even one other person when ever they want i used to do that last year because i wanted to get better

Yeah I missed that bit, my bad. Fair enough if you're not asking to pay. But how do we solve this rather touchy subject of setting skill levels? Or do we just say that anyone who's played for less than X amount of months is still a newbie? Either way, who's coming powerhouse today?

as for thusday polo i shall come along with my £10 in hand,
back on topic, i get whars being said abotu levels of play etc etc, its to be expected, but isn't there another court at the powerhouse? the other side of the building? coudl we use that or is splitting up the gorup not to everyones cup of tea?

Steve - unrelated to the hand wringing going on - please try Saturday mornings before you consign it to the skip.... we have some decent game goin' on! Plus the option of a decent bacon butty afterwards...
