Also, as I don't care about the football but do care about enjoying the ride I'm ducking out at the closest train station if the pace is too fast for me but would rather there was a slower group if there's definitely a faster group kinda thing.

ah only 48/17 down to 48/19, which is my usual "long ride avec hills" gear. Although every time i've done L2B before i've either not had a cog or thought fuck it and run 48/17 so hopefully should be a bit more enjoyable up Ditchling... he says...
