Track sprinter, rollers are a standard winter training tool.
Hill Climbers would tend towards lower, more economical RPM most of the time and BMXers would only hit these RPMs in short bursts.
Has Jamie Staff ever done a Rollapaluza?

There's the 'straight edge' ones? Not sure if they're faster.

That really is a shame, I hope a replacement event can be run at hhv.

Why? Don't forget the Southern Counties created the Good Friday tradition. If by moving to LVVP it can take away the uncertainty and actually show a profit to plough back into events at HH, surely that's a good thing? Come with us and make it work.

The ticketing agent that SCCU have employed for this are taking the mick.
£2.50 booking fee, if you insist. Oh! per ticket that is a bit cheeky.
And five times the cost of a first class stamp to post the tickets to you.
I don't mind paying the increased ticket cost but a thousand extra little charges that are disclosed step by step pisses me off. Changed my mind about getting tickets as a result.
On top of which the website functionality seems to have been done with a Fisher-Price Myfirstwebsite kit.

I feel it is shame to lose the tradition of many decades, I am not against progress or change and also think LVVP will be splendid venue.

I think it's a bold move and having been involved in GF for many years as a spectator, volunteer and racer I fully understand the reasoning behind the promoter's decision this year. It's a hard task often to organise this kind of event and often at personal financial risk. I hope it sells out in Stratford!

is there any record of good friday attendances over the last few years
velodrome takes 6,000 people
i would say there has been less than 6k at herne hill in years gone by -
• #243
I would guess that the good Friday meeting will become a lot more attractive as an event and hope they manage to sell it out.
-
• #244
true, the venue is worth the entry fee alone

Breaking with tradition will always leave feelings of disappointment for some, but it seems to me that for a race organiser, having the choice of an Olympic-standard INDOOR venue for a track meeting in April in the UK is a bit of a no-brainer!

In, racing. Hyped!

• #247
Yeah, the odds on you are just designed to make someone some serious money. ;P

As I understand the Good friday meet brings out the big stayer bikes as well as the dernies?
Will they be present indoors?
-
• #249
now that would be a spectacle
although 6 triumphs spouting oil and fumes all over the nice scandanavian pine might be an issue -

No big bikes this year :(
