Just a small point. Blackheath gate to the park is behind all the security barriers for the Olympics. Can I suggest the Tea Hut here.
If you get there early enough you can score a cuppa and a huge chunk of cake for just £1.50 and I'm pretty sure they would appreciate some extra business as they've been real quiet of late with all the parking restrictions and road closures destroying their passing trade. -

Can't turn down tea and cake.

Going by this map, Blackheath Gate is at the southern edge

Is the foot tunnel open yet? Haven't had to use it for about three years.

• #162
Ooh, that would be useful. Didn't know it existed
-
• #163
This seems to suggest it will be open http://www.royalgreenwich.gov.uk/info/200102/walking/693/foot_tunnels
-

I used it about 3 weeks ago. It was open then.
-
• #165
do you have to pay to use it?
-
• #166
nope
we need john to defintively specify where we are meeting10-4 10-4 for a copy come in john good buddy, where are you ?
-
• #167
Blackheath Gate is here: http://goo.gl/maps/rjJ8d It's where the park meets the heath, the tea hut is all of 200 yards up the road so there will be plenty of opportunity to grab a cuppa while waiting.
Dunno bout the security barriers but it's right by the A2 so can't be that far behind enemy lines, just look for a bunch of hipsters with bikes.

Nope. Google maps Blackheath Gate Lodge and it's kinda in the center of the park... I think.
