Am in awe of how many people want to mooch round London looking a drain covers with us! I've update OP with final route (pretty much unchanged).
For the dedicated, a bit of background on some of the places we're going to (well mostly standing on top of):

new tyres?
No... not new tyres yet, I still haven't been arsed to find the receipt for those tyres yet, so the falcon has been untouched since that fateful day. I'll be on my other steed.

Here's a great site of some cheeky buggers sneaking into the old Mail Rail and exploring it all, taking loads of photos.
What say the 50 of us sneak in for a ride?

Honestly! Anyone would think we just made up based on 15 mins of cursory internet research. Ahem.
@Ian(conker). There are two actual underground moments, to go with the two actual facts. There would have been three but we decided that breaking to spend the afternoon in Gordons Wine Bar might have broken up the flow of the ride somewhat (as I wouldn't have left).

No Gordon's?
Sad face. :(

How about the Brunel tunnel/museum? Fascinating place.
Isn't it! We went here (well the outside, in the dark) last year for the Bicycle Tag of Bike Ride.
Barry Mason, who taught me so much about everything, did an amazing Subterranean London ride in 2010 as part of the London Festival of Architecture.
In his write up he said:
"London Hydraulic Power covers on Bermondsey Wall East, Robert Hulse down the Brunel tunnel shaft, Father Mark in St Mary's amazing crypt, Kim's South Korean Old Justice pub cellar, through the Rotherhithe tunnel, founder Jools on Wapping Hydraulic Power station and the stunning pendulums there, 13 floors down the deepest car park in Europe, Crossbones grave yard, Union Street orchard."
It was an unforgettable ride. One of the last I did with him.
That sounds amazing - not sure we'll manage live up to that.

You won't, but don't worry about it. You can still read the archives of the Southwark Cyclists mailing list with Barry's ride reports, which were always completely amazing.

^ This. I'm still learning from him every day.

There's an Alias on here who I'm pretty sure went down there whilst access was available. Wish I was around for this one but sadly I'm away.
Hope you have a lovely ride.

Arriving in London from Melbourne the day before this. I think this will be a good introduction to the city.

Just to show how much I love being underground, and why I'm gutted I can't do this ride....
Taken this morning.
... what you mean we're not actually going down in the sewers? blimey, I've just bought me a swanky set of waders and some waterproof grease for the bike bearings ... and a synchronised-swimming-stylee-nose-clip!
