James, I used one of these: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=2909

Yeah. Any old pump will do. Its a little easier to reach big volumes, than big pressures.

....and in other news. Mrs Smallfurry just signed for a nice big parcel from Russia.
excited?
just a little.

Ooh.. another fat bike!
Singular have been on this for a while. Sexy, look at those chainstays.

• #1008
Feck I hope my wheel and cranks fit.

And another one too, Genesis! it got a 10 speed 11-36 cassette, would be better off with the new SRAM XX1 drivetrain thought.
All the mounts make me quiver with anticipation.

The crud catcher mounts are a nice touch. Kinda wanted them on mine. But needed the actual crud catchers to measure, and couldingt source them.

The Salsa Anything cages mount is another nice touch too.

Sram XX1 is pricey on a fatbike. It requires a special freehub. Hope do replacement freehubs for the pro hubs, and thus the FatSno. Then the chainring only fits the Sram cranks. Although you can get equivalent long toothed chainrings from small chainring produers now. These things still hike the price up.
I may look into going 11 speed later. I already have the hub, and a source for the chainring. But I'd have to switch to a different shifter type.

Careful, going 11 speed mean you'll need to wait 11 months.

meh.
Buy derailuer + shifter.
Buy freehub.
Buy chainring (possibly with adaptor to get down to 30t).I'd be riding all the time while collecting the bits. The only questions are whether I need the range, whether I like the crank work around, and whether I get on with the shifter (if it fits under my pogies thats not an issue).
Firstly I still need brakes.

Would it not be possible to take the brakes from your belt drive single speed onto the fatbike until you got the right one?

The race is on. Just waiting on final prices for parts for mine.

Thats set up for 140mm rear/ 160mm front discs. The fatty has 160mm rear, and a beefy 203mm front.
I can mount the rear direct, as my sliders are post mount. I would need to steel the 203mm adaptor from my cargo bike to fit the front. With my selection of discs and adaptors I could sort the cargo bike at a different size.
Its doable.

I'm putting my headset in the freezer as soon as I get home. Then I predict a long drawn out struggle to get everything to turn.

I have not yet ordered a single part.
Raceface or middleburn will depend on who has cranks in stock for postage.

Ha, in the time Lee has got his frame, I have bought and sold a fat bike, and commissioned, ridden and retired a Triton frame! I think I have a problem!.
Though, I do have this now...

I'll have an amazing looking, and bloody expensive, fat bike that wont turn left.
Does it turn left yet?

It does. Very well too. So relieved on that one.
I guess youre not serious. But I am. I'll be adjusting the ends of my cranks arms. Theyalways use too much metal anyway.

Getting there. Looks amazing in the flesh.

Raceface Atlas aren't they?
Yeah, they're well overbuilt - especially for a lightweight like you :-)

What pump are you going to use on trails if you get a flat?
Am looking for a high volume pump for the bike the girlfriend bought off gabes
