  • Bleak night...

Not the bleakest night on a Tuesday...

  • Shouldn't this be merged with the middle aged thread?

Certainly not. None of the contributors are middle aged.

    Middle earth maybe...

  • Time & Envy or GTFO

time discotheque basildon > time & envy romford

  • Bas Vegas!

  • Jesus this takes me back.
I don't even think I would know what do it in a club nowadays it's probably been over 10 years.
I saw one of the Prodigies first performances back in 1990 or something.
Oh my god, that was 22 years ago.
    Cries

  • The last time I went to Fabric I remember seeing a lot of large Sikhs.

  • Fabric's not half the club The End was. Never had a killer night there. Too big too.

The End was mint, went to one of the last ever nights there.. Rip

  • Fabric is ace, just because it is so big. Still, last time I went out (to Matter (good riddance), I felt like a parent at a kids' disco. Not good.

I was dancing to them utterly off my clacker under a flyover in 1989...

  • Only if you want middle-agers popping pills and dad dancing in the middle of Fabric..

    Ah - Happy days.

  • i've only ever been there on fridays. There's too many girls on saturday.

since when was this ever a problem?

  • I have to say that the End had a better vibe bit not nearly as good in terms of a soundsystem.

I was there on Boxing day... hands down still the best club in London.

  • Haha! Freak night then?

Ha, I used to go on Mondays back in the 90s/early 2000s - was pretty fun. I did end up down there on Fri/Sat territory on occasion but the sheer number of fights/stabbings I saw just made it no fun at all. I've been to some grim places in my life but Romford on a Friday night is one of the bleakest.

    This.

Meanwhile, out and about in the East End. (Electric Showrooms, Motherbar etc) it's all good. Old farts everywhere.

  • jeez, i haven't done an all nighter since i was 30 (14 years ago) .. not sure i have the stamina for it these days.. i can remember fabric midweek, followed by cityboy size breakfast in one of the local establishments at 7am.. sleeping at desk til noon when the boss turned up for work.. happy days

  • The weirdest place I've been to was Bagleys Studios in Kings Cross.

Puffa jackets and stupid hats. Everyone mashed up. Loads and loads of older original junglists on feta.

United Dance 2000 - that was the night! :-) Spent two hours in the queue with some natters and the almost was thrown out for trying to smuggle in a bottle of mineral water (people dissolve shit in them).

Skihs are good. The last time I went there they defended me from some red faced Cockney on speed. I stepped on his white Nike shoe. Wanker.

Fuck. I think it was 2001... or even 2000.

  • .. red faced Cockney on speed. I stepped on his white Nike shoe. Wanker..

    ..so we have met

  • ..so we have met

    Which one?

  • I had loads of amazing nights at Bagleys when I was too young to get into my local pub.

I was probably at some United Dance parties too... I still have the United Dance membership card with my photo on with a hastily hidden school tie.

Is there an "I'm a dirty raver" thread on here?

  • Bagleys was nuts back in the early 90's - many a messy night had down there.

However, AWoL on Saturday nights at Paradise Club, Islington was about the best D&B night London has ever really offered.

  • Freedom at Bagleys used to be a top night out, maybe not as good as the gallery at Turnmills but still a good night.

Base on Thursday nights at the Velvet Room was my favourite though. Jim Masters, Trevor Rockcliffe and Carl Cox used to rock that little basement.

  • Can we all get dressed up like Italians, with shades, skinny stonewashed jeans, D&G trainers and Moncler puffa's??!

    Fabric is wank!

  • Bagleys was always good if you fancied gettin stabbed
