Bang! It'll never be the same after the first chip/unexpected bit of rain...
Beautiful build though - well done Sir!

Yeah, I am such an anal guy, borderline ocd. That first chip will take a while to get over :) but there's no point in just staring at it, it needs to get ridden.

Exactly what I said about an ex...

The frame still looks 'shopped. Weird. Nice weird mind.

Tried to do some twining, like so:

Dunno if I like the result or not tbh:

It is a bit anachronistic for the build isn't it? I would expect that on a far older bike. Better without (in my humble opinion).

Ask Ed. He's the oracle.

^^ True, might just get some white electrical tape and make do.

• #236
Nice try but I think that's a nono

Either this, or I don't mind the black tape since you've got black hoods. Or what about rainbow stripes to match the head badge decal? Pretty traditional looking. Or is that too much? [disclaimer: photo is for illustration purposes only. Fluorescent green>>> ]

Hope Bar Plugs finally arrived, ordered them more than a month ago. I thought they were lost, but they turned up today with 2 other lost parcels! Magic. Stupid Royal Mail. They look and 'grip' alot better than the brooks plugs.

That's one lovely bike you've got there.
-
• #242
Your bike is gorgeous, but you seriously need to sort that bar tape out.
Looking a bit 'ribbed for her pleasure' at the moment.

Still after pedals?
pretty sure he wouldn't go to all that effort with nice NOS stuff and the put a scuff to shit pair of pedals on
-
• #244
Meh, all mine get like that within about five minutes anyway
-
• #245
i have to say i very much like it and im very impressed and jealous, however i think the rear brake cable should go non drive side, i'd have a different saddle and black cables. all personal preference things... bravo!

With the Arione (if you've still got it) try putting the post down slightly and using a level to get the saddle dead flat.
As pictured it's canted down quite steeply which would be unpleasant (for me, at any rate, and I've got Arione on three of my bikes).

Unfortunately I did return the test saddle, but I have managed to buy a cheapish Arione with manganese rails. I thought I'd give it another go. I'll try get a spirit level this time and maybe lower the seatpost. Used the same height as when I had the Rolls on there which maybe why it's not comfortable on my tushy.
By the way did you go straight for the Arione or did you look at the Antares as well?
I actually haven't. Resisted temptation, now the weather's getting better, I think I'll take it out this weekend. Looking forward to it.
