I don't really mind as it was a cheap price for what they are. I spent ages cleaning them up thinking I'd use them as training wheels :) They are nice so I'll just shove em away for another project.

^ Yes it was, is it yours?
That's mine!
Just notice this thread. Looks like your's is going to be a beautiful build. Just got a set of C-Record wheels that I need to put on mine, what wheels are have you got instead of the Shamals?

Hey fellow Roberts man!
I should get some a set of Modern 2006 Record Hubs laced to DT Swiss Rims tomorrow for use on the Roberts. The Shamals are lovely and fit, but couldn't justify using them everytime/even using them.
Some updates:
Bar Tape
Brooks White Bar Tape
Cableset
Campagnolo White Cableset

What would you suggest?

Yup.. Straight to anti. Too bad.

I don't know anything about Brooks bar tape but I'm going for Fizik Microtex for my classic steel build, mainly because (a) the perforated synthetic material looks quite classy/classic and (b) by all accounts it's easier to keep clean than some of the other white tapes on offer, especially the cork type.
(They provide branded end tape but I think I'll be using standard black electrical tape, so it will be brand neutral, hence not upsetting the classic look.)

Yeah, this baby is staying indoors until the weather decides to brighten the fuck up... which feels like never. Currently freezing my balls off at my desk.

Only my third complete bike build I have undertaken and it took me just over 5 hours to complete. If there is anything I should have done better, or something that should have been done in a particular order, let me know, feedback always welcome. - Downtube Cable Guides Mounted
- Shifters Mounted
- Seatpost and Saddle Mounted
- Rear Derailleur Mounted
- Chainset Mounted
- Front Derailleur and Chain Mounted
- **Cables for Gearing Mounted **
- Brakeset and Cables for Brakes Mounted

Nice. I'd almost consider Campag looking at that. ;)
Even the photos are quite well considered. Damn. #mustfindcriticism #failing #argh

I don't like the black finishing tape on the handlebars, I think some white electrical tape/ white twine would look better.
-
• #174
Ah ha!!!! You got one!
I don't like the saddle either but that's personal so I don't count it.

Your frontend cable runs are a little short perhaps?
Don't be so hard on yourself!
Wrongly described? Maybe you can return them?
