I climbed a mountain this weekend and strava'd it, just out of interest. Turns out someone had made the ascent into a segment and I've gone straight to the top of the leaderboard. Best ever QOM, mainly because it's the only one remotely near a mountain...

was someone aiming for a KOM on this segment at the weekend?
-
• #904
I wonder who that was...
-
• #905
Not me... Didn't know (but should have guessed) that road was a segment....
Strangely the only people I know who have times for that road are Butters, Poots and....... DJ.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm

I've done 1508 miles so far this month. 900ish public ones, the rest hidden. The strava nuun challenge only counts public miles, so all my boring private ones don't contribute to the total. Completing it isn't worth sharing all my shit miles. A shame.

Anyone else have issues with the iphone app not picking up segments they clearly rode through? Is it the elevation record (which is clearly all over the place on all my rides)?

Is that the one that turns into a jet fighter?

I took a different route home on Friday and it detoured me far enough off the road near some tall buildings for a pretty decent climb not to count. Didn't know the segments existed til I tried to create them on my version of the route.

Nice one! Bloody hell...
1700 by the end of the month? ;)

Only month this year I've had pretty much full time employment too. Not sure what's going to happen come Friday. A rest, maybe.
1700 just isn't doable, work has come to a head, no time :( next month, maybe. -

Work is a bastard sometimes as far as keeping up the miles. To be fair it doesn't seem to have affected you too much though!
Once I've got a new bike sorted I'm going for a 2,000km month. Hopefully not too much of a step up from the 1,600 in march

A little tool that lets you see all your rides over a period of time mapped on one map

That is pretty cool.

Nice

Great idea - been looking for something like this for a while, but it sure as hell doesn't work properly in IE.
Just getting a tiny sliver of map at the top. I have to zoom my browser out to 10% to get a decent view, and then it just crashes...

Looks pretty good in the Android browser on my tablet, but the map seems to mostly highlight the data errors my phone throws in every now and then. It would be nice if the strava web interface would let you smooth out some anomalies, especially silly stuff like altitude spikes

Nice - it's definitely telling me I need to broaden my library of routes though..

That's amazing. I just did a slice from this year and zoomed in on London.

I've said it before, but I did something similar for a uni project ages ago but didn't have a gps at the time so drew it all by hand. Took forever. This is rather handy. Agree with broadening route library, but it's nice to see the ones in odd directions I'd forgotten I'd done.
It doesn't seem to have pulled everything in, it's missing Dunwich, a few Brighton rides and some other bits and bobs, but makes a nice picture.

I like that the opening screen is of the entire planet. It certainly encourages some adventures.

soon...
I'm doing it so that I can fill up the interwebs.
