Its very creepy.
You spot someone running/riding.
Find them on Strava.
Find where they live from regular start finish Points.
Find when they are out from regular start finish times.
Even Discover they are on holiday, from that morning run on a Greek beach. If you would like to rape, rob,or burgle someone its an awesome tool.
(I know you can set up privacey zones etc. But not many do up here.)

All I seem to record on strava is the junk miles of commuting and weekly MTB rides at Swinley. Though object pointed out the MTB miles also count as junk.
:-(
Sad smiley inserted to piss off object.

MTB miles are harder, don't listen to anything he says. Problem is James, you don't do enough MTB miles.

Privacy zones have only limited value - once you've established roughly where they live and you know what time they leave/ arrive it isn't that hard to be in that place and observe. If you were of such a mind of course...

Annie slipped a disc so we had a hiatus from off roading. The plan is to start going twice a week, one night ride and one day time. Though both our work schedules have gone crazy.

Im not saying we should, but starting an organised strava crime gang could well be a possibility... whistles

Rode my commute this morning, managed on PB on a 4 mile flat straight section, ended up 53rd on a road favoured by the local TTers on my track bike, however when I went into the smaller, mile long sections in that, the best place I got was 222nd, and as bad as 270th. Does not compute, so people are hammering it out for merely a mile for KOM on pissy little segments? There should be a minimum length for them me thinks

Exactly this.
I can understand a short Sharp 500m Climb. But some segments are intentionally random and short. Still anyone looking at the tables will be placing a certain value, or lack of, on a segment. So it kinda doesnt matter.
I actually made a short random segment, in fact 2. the last 2.5 km stretch of road to work. In both directions. Currently doing shite. Cant believe anyone but me smashed that section of road?

Short segments = sprint segments

The segment option on strava is interesting but I am not paying for an annual subscription. Just seems like I get the info I need on the free app.

Really short segments are basically speed traps.

Repost indeed, but interesting nonetheless.

They probably used this http://labs.strava.com/flyby
I used this yesterday to find out if I knew any of a group I passed (I passed them quickly and didn't get any more than a quick "hi"). I worked.....
Then I felt weird.

Just used strava to plan a route for the first time and got to the "export route to device" page. These is no option for 910xt. Will any of the other options work and if so which one?
-
• #3046
^^ 2mins googling says you need a tcx file. The edge 500 needs a tcx so try that.

I accidentally left an activity recording on the iPhone app and then drive home after a ride. I uploaded this to Strava (privately) - Is there any way to now edit this activity to remove the drive home?

riding up and down one way road for 15 hours needs not only physical strength, but mental too.

Pretty sure you can crop sections of a ride in the spanner settings menu.
^ I just tried that with my 130km MTB ride from Sunday, it's pretty freaky. I can see who the group of mountain bikers I saw were in Neroche Woods, and who the group of old blokes who's fresh tyre tracks I was following up a big climb, and also who a girl is that jogged past me going the other way.
I don't like it, it's creepy.
