I could do a strava challenge on eating 600k bike-shaped cakes. I could maybe win at that.

I no longer have Strava installed on my phone but I do have Untappd.
Sums up my life really.

I just googled untappd to see what it is and there are loads of people drinking delicious booze RIGHT NOW in real time.
I wonder if it's too early for a pub lunch right now. It is winter so it's later in the day than it would be at the equivalent time in summer, yes?

It's never too early.

Have strava ever done a highest suffer score challenge?
I got a 373 this weekend, which looking back over the last year is my highest by some margin...

Chapeau!
Will have to have a crack at beating that next time I'm down in Cornwall!
Sure some of the ultra runners must have some silly scores..

Who else is taking part?
I am.. (my profile)
Anyone up for some spins out in surrey when the weekend weather gets better this month? That or some laps of Richmond Park?
Cheers,
Joe
I'm doing it, and maybe some other challenges will have to do more than just the commute to hit that target I reckon

@sains, I did a ride in October 130miles, off-road, non-stop. Lots of climbing and bog-walking with the bike too. took 20.5 hours. I forgot my HRM, so didn't get a score, but my mate got a score of 590!

I wonder what Hippy's 24hr TT would get
-
• #2661
We'd have to work out a TSS to Suffer Score equivalency algorithm, but that should be relatively straight forward.
-
• #2662
Rascale - let me know if you're ever up for a spin in Sussex or Surrey?

I don't have the paid-for Strava or a HRM.
-
• #2664
Wouldnt strava take powermeter data if present instead of HRM for 'suffer score' though?
-
• #2665
"Available to Premium members. Upgrade your account and use a heart rate monitor to see your Suffer Score."
"See your custom heart rate zones to quantify your suffering and visualize exactly how hard you’re working. Get credit for your most intense workouts with Points in the Red."
So, it sounds like you could just change your zones to 'game' the values anyway. ie. even more pointless.
-
• #2666
Suffer Score is HRM generated only.
I had both power and HR on this: http://www.strava.com/activities/60760278/overview

Set Z5 to max at 100bpm and make every ride RaphaEpic™
-
• #2668
Then it's not really very useful. To be fair, Suffer Score isn't very useful anyway, but "time in zone" is good for comparing different rides and runs.

How come you don't use your real name on Strava?

How come you don't use your real name on Strava?
Before we list the many stalking/surveilance/crime/employment related reasons, can you offer some reasons why users should use real names on Strava?

When signing up it asks people to use their real name.
I also don't understand why people join a social network and then have a private profile.
I have no answers, just questions ;)

Seriously?
Burglars use "social GPS" data:

A private profile isn't private to people you choose to be linked with on that site. You don't have to be findable and it's perfectly reasonable not to be.
