My phone was an old Wildfire- I spoke to Strava about it and they said it was beyond their capabilities to support the large number of older Android handsets out there as there were simply so many combinations of hardware and software.
That said the Wildfire was/is a very old phone, and it wasn't particularly pokey when new, so if you phone is of a more recent vintage you may simply have an issue similar to the one that T4 had.
Log a support ticket with Strava- they are pretty good at coming back with troubleshooting advice.
What's the handset, out of interest?

Why not use MyTracks or similar and then upload the gps file from that? Save the nonsense with Strava apps.

Any ideas why the 'thornhill dash' shows as my biggest climb?

I've got a galaxy s2 and i've been losing early portions of my rides when i synch. Even after just pausing it and not hitting chequered flag until I have wifi connection.
Always seems start me from a spot where I've spent ages at the lights.. co incidence..i think not..

use a garmin edge? Phone gps are so spotty + it drains your battery in under 6 hours

I don't see the point, people clearly do some routes in their cars...

You don't even need to do that.

:) got down to 218th/3367 for the Regents zoo sprint tonight without actually sprinting at all. Decent improvement from the last time I dared to use Strava and was in the high 800s
Still shit slow though :(

regents is getting a bit think in the top10's
-
• #2291
there's way too many segments around there
-
• #2292
As someone kindly flagged my interval segment as hazardous, I'm going to make it private, so that'll make a small dent in the congestion.

There should be a lot more; at least as many as there are species in the zoo.
-
• #2294
Scratch that. Apparently I lose editing rights* once a segment's been flagged. Hmm.
-
• #2295
Create a new one. Make that private
-
• #2296
That won't help to declutter people's Regents Park rides.
At this point, I'd like to reiterate that I don't give a shit really.

I think it's already been mentioned, but if someone and I go on a ride and they strava it, can I add it to my strava record?
On my iPhone app.
It's what they told me with my old Android phone, glad you got it sorted without having to buy a new phone.
