For those looking back to what they did last year, there is a new facility on that site which I think is quite useful for those without other tracking methods.
Strava needs to add this simple stuff. I guess part of their strategy is to save some features for paying customers, though.

TBH I switched completely back to Garmin Connect for cycling/running/swimming with the beginning of 2013. At least it keeps the real data coming out of their devices without making up stuff.
Plus it doesn't lack of many Strava features, maybe only segments but London is full of shitty ones anyway and I am quite fed up with commuters pretending to be in a TdF stage just for a segment.
I will still upload on Strava for the added nerdness of these tools though.

Does anyone else upload to multiple systems? garmin, strava & training peaks? Oh and I plan routes with gpsies.
I wish Garmin Connect had similar privacy zones as strava. I don't like how it's either private or public but nothing in between.

If Strava actually offered some useful features for their paying customers then I might be one. As it stands it seems very expensive for little return other than the satisfaction of paying for the service.

Wonder if this new Garmin technology will spell the end of strava?

i have just joined the base miles challenge, how quickly does strava update and include your rides so far this year into the challenge?

^Is this where they interview at the end the knobber who rode 14 hours in one day to complete the Rapha Rising Challenge, or some other wanker?
-

having spent the first 6 days off the bike trying to get rid of a cold, I logged just over 3 round trip commutes this week, on a chopper. 108 miles on a bike whose bar-ends are 5ft off the ground, win.

You do realise that audax riders will ride 24 hours in a day for far less.
And then keep riding after an hour or so sleep because they've got at least another 100k to go.

Been meaning to post up my 2012 Strava Year..
4,000 miles all in - pretty evenly split between the commute and weekend rides - plus the trip to Paris for the TDF.
Definitely need to vary my Kent route and strike out West a bit more in 2013..

609.9mi/h
My average was only 365.3mi/h. I swear I could've gone faster. 400mph, easily.

How did you decide on your route to paris? Just 'the' route to take?
-

My KM's on the turbo do not show up on my Total Distance for the year, this the case for everybody else ?
-
• #1741
Yep- trainer miles do not count toward your total "on the road" miles

It was an organised ride so I just followed the signs! Having said that, a lot of thought had been put into it by the team and I would say it was worth following if you were thinking about going that way.
Pretty Kent Villages, rolling French countryside, a touch of Strada Bianchi-like farm roads, winding forest hill roads, a national park and a few good places for food stops.
I can send you a GPX.. Strava seemed to have stopped that grab function when I tried it a couple of days ago. -

That would be cool. Can put it on ice for if I ever need.
