what's the thermos in this pic and does it work well?

It's not a thermos, it's a Klean Kanteen I got in America, they're awesome and have some fun real classic style one too with cork.

I obviously didn't mean thermos the brand when I said it, easier than "vacuum flask" "insulated beverage/food container" etc
But thanks I'll look into them.
Ever used it to keep a hot drink warm on a ride? How long did it stay hot? Easy to drink from?

It's just a stainless steel water bottle, never used it to keep warm drink in which will get cold very quickly I suspected
You just remind me to order a new one after that one got destroyed by a driver, look perfect with the Oak.
Griffin still in pieces, still thinking about building it up as a light roadie despite it's tiny clearance.

Ah, I assumed it was designed to retain heat, of no use to me then!
Need one that's practical and will keep me warm on a cold day in the saddle, not just look good

Jordan - I used this one over the winter.
£10 NOS from Dave Marsh
The only drawback is that it'll only take 250ml of (strong) coffee

Stuffed a flask in a saddlebag?
The last thing I want to do is to drink a hot coffee while in motion, so getting a small flask enough to carry hot drink that can be consumed while off the bicycle.

^^Interesting, thanks for the link!
^And yeah that is certainly one option, but I'm quite drawn to the idea of hot tea on the move not just when stopped, sounds nice to me :)

I use one of these for my morning commute coffee, seems ok
I still have it.
It didn't get replaced, just temporary on hold as the Oak cost quite a bit of money and I can't afford to have two project at the same time.
The good thing is that I got some lovely Campag derailleur that'll work well with the 13-24 block, and a front hubs already, so once the Oak is out of the picture, it won't be long before this one will resume.
Due to the type of bike the Oak will be, the Bob Griffin will be my proper roadie with a proper crankset (52/39).
