I suppose you could leave the lil dude and trailer at teh destination then go out and about unencumbered.

They're almost empty if you look closely - only a jacket in the side pannier. All the tools and locks are in the rack top bag.
Trailer has gap between the rear compartment and the seat, so all the tools, pumps and locks just roll on the floor.
