I cycled between Bilbao and San Seb last year. I thought I was going to barf up a lung.

My first ever go at a tour - thought it was a fairly standard target but people seem impressed since I got back. I still think this bike was a big part of it being possible.

Some really nice stuff here: http://groovycycleworks.blogspot.ca/2012/08/martins-650b-day-2.html
Especially Martins 650b. I don't know you find the whole build process, but mos def worth a look.
edit: here is the final bike https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10151396060364409.570229.227115749408&type=1

is this really your bike? Or have you misunderstood the thread title? -
• #592
No I do get it. I just though the blog itself was interesting and in particular that bike. Especially if you're interested in ti builders/build process. It didn't quite seem to hit porn even though technically it's excellent. Functional... possibly.
But feel free to request that the post be segmented into its own thread. Might I suggest,* "Show us someone else's Titanium! - Ti and Stainless bikes" *as a title.

No, the hidden way the frame splits to allow belt installation.
The derailleur hanger is a piss take.

I would have thought that the owner probably wanted the possibility to use another drivetrain with a geared rear wheel, giving him/her the ability to have a more versatile bike. No?

Yes that's the reason.
The thing that attracted me to the work in the first place was the custom cable routing through the head tube.

Could well be the reason, but given that it's a replaceable gear hanger and after putting all that effort into the frame, I'm surprised the frame builder didn't just give him two gear hangers, one for a derailleur mount and one with it remove and filed smooth.

those hangers are like £5, it wouldn't even be expensive to have a spare one.
Surely you could save yourself a fortune and walk it?
