  • They are, yup. The Duranos on it are 25s with room to spare - the blurb claims 28s and that sounds about right.

  • Thanks.

  • My 953 do it all bike.

    In touring mode:

    Chillin' on holiday:

    Pre paint:

  • Liking that Demon a lot, yetidamo!

    That BMX is lush too.

  • ^^ Proper.

  • Fucking love the demon.......wonderful colour!
I think it needs a gilles berthoud front bag though! :0)

  • Prettiest bike I've seen for a long, long time, yetidamo.

Would you tell us about the paintjob and the colours/techniques used?

  • Thanks everyone. I chose the paint job. The whole thing is then lacquered. Tom at Demon rates the paint shop as the best in the UK and I have to say the finish is amazing in the flesh. More info here:

  • Who are the UK Ti frame builders?

    So far I have Burls.

  • Enigma

  • Burls don't actually build here.

  • UK Ti frame putter-togetherers / quick-wipe-with-a-clothers considered too.

  • I can do that for you

  • @TW2 - Knesis? I really like the look of the GF Ti V2 as a good Ti bike from a British company.

  • I like the look of that, but would like to run a rear disc brake (with 28c clearances - so not the cross frame).

  • Kinesis? British? Since when? IIRC they are a large Taiwanese company that has a chap in the UK who does some design work.

  • Go to Enigma and get a custom build .. not sure what the current time scale is but my Elite I had earlier in the year was a 3 month wait.

  • I had a very good experience with Burls, favorite bike by far.

  • Picked this up last week. Been watching for for something that ticks all the boxes for a long time. It's a Lynskey Audax frame, with space for 28mm tyres, and has rear rack mounts too for light touring, but the geo is a really nice balance between relaxed like a tourer and super tight racing bike. Even thought the geometry is looser than my crabon Focus that this is replacing, the new bike gets up to speed so much quicker, and when there seems to roll and roll. Dude who sold it had moved house and changed job so wasn't using it. It seems brand new. Literally not a scratch on it, and it's the smoothest thing I've ever ridden. My first bike with a Campag group too, which I'm enjoying. Like the understated looks too - the previous owner had already de-stickered the wheels - saved me the job! Just a saddle and bar tape change needed and it'll be perfect.

  • only 2 ti frame makers in the uk that i know of... baldwin in yorkshire (new brand) and robin mather sown south. That and speedwell in nottingham but they are long gone sadly

met baldwin guys at the yorkshire bicycle show, they seem nice enough- am planning a visit to there workshop before christmas

  • These guys?

You should help them with a redesign of their website and brand in return for a custom build.

  • Justin Burls does the steel frames himself but typically uses eastern (ex) fighter plane welders for ti. Ted James?
I know he has some knowledge on the material.

  • Not sure Robin is still doing Ti, not seen any recent ones from him.

  • Here is my custom Enigma - got this made for our summer challenge - 1100 miles in 10 days Santander to Roscoff unsupported.

    It was perfect.

  • That bike is over kill for 10 miles a day isnt it?
