This fork has been a game changer for this bike. Already sold the Enve that it replaced. Bike feels way more enjoyable to ride now. Way way way more balanced. The frame/forks compliment each other so well. Way better than the frame was with the Enve. Seeing it flex as it goes over bumps is a total joy.
Feel like I’m almost there now. Need to go back to an 8° stem and new wheels turn up soon. Then I think it might be complete. Other than Chorus cranks. Need those too.

That looks great! Big fan of the Bidons too - I’ve seen a few sets of the older 5 arm chorus cranks go fairly cheap for campagnolo recently... the newer ones are ugly IMO... tidy bike that 👍🏻👍🏻

I can’t use 11sp. I specifically want 12sp because the chain line is different between 11 and 12. The only reason I want new cranks is for that reason.

it isn't the width of the rings that is the problem- although they're not correct either- it's the chainline. modern drivetrains work super well-but they are sensitive to chainline. the new campy stuff works flawlessly- and i'm sure with the wrong crank the eps stuff is fine for some people...but in my experience of building a bunch of campy bikes both 11 and 12 speed and trying to make weird stuff work together- i wouldn't let a bike out the door of our shop with that set up without telling the client that it was at best a B- application.
ps the mechanical stuff is somewhat more tolerant of wacky setups like this- as are bikes with small chainrings and long chain stays. the worst set ups are bikes with big chainrings (53/39) and sub 420mm stays. Those bikes eccentuate an already out of spec chainline and the results are that the bike doesn't really work in a bunch of gear combos it should work in.

Yeah; what I should have said is, Gaulzetti’s list of what might happen should you use 11sp cranks with 12sp everything else is exactly what I’ve experienced, down to the letter. The bottom three cogs make an ungodly noise.

Neither TI nor stainless but facing big trouble when trying to clean the brushed finish from all the winter mud and salt and grease, I thought you guys could help with some ideas?

A question for you: does this new steel fork have a different rake or ATC-size? Or is it just the material/type of fork what makes the difference? -

Here’s a better photo from my current project thread.
It has the same rake as my Enve at 50mm. The Enve had a 367mm A-C but we went with 370mm on the steel fork to ensure it could clear a 30c tyre, over the Enve’s 28c max (which they now state is a 25c max). This 3mm change slackened my head angle from 71° to 70.8° which is totally negligible.
@tadpole it was made by John Fitzgerald, previously of Rock Lobster and now Fitz Cycles. We used Columbus .9mm 28x19 oval blades with an Allotec crown. Powder coated black with a satin clear coat.
It totally transformed the feel of the bike. Compliments the smooth ride quality of the Ti frame way better than the Enve did.

If circa £1000 is the budget I’d hold tight for the sales between now and new year for a rim brake ti road frames and net something new so you have the warranty to rely upon... 🤷♂️
That Merlin in the classifieds is a classic, your money would be safe in it I reckon - sure you couldn’t make it fit? Buy, try, sell on of its not right? Fun for lockdown 2021!
