no i was talking about the important races that matter, but i suppose the turkey results just adds to the feeling that Goss isnt quite good enough
Important races like last year's MSR?

"During the 2012 Giro d'Italia, Ferrari was relegated by the UCI back to the amateur ranks for sprinting like a hairy-legged 4th-cat.[2]"
Gold. :)

Anyone think the Sky train has got a lot of work to do ? HTC did such a good job of stringing the bunch out and then delivering Cav to the line.
Sky can't do this yet - the pace isn't quick enough, leading to messy nervous finishes with Cav getting repeatedly bumped of wheels.Green Edge by contrast did a fine job with Goss yesterday

Cav won the day before and may well have done so again yesterday if not for the crash. I think the Sky train looks plenty strong enough.

I think when Cav went to Sky he knew he wouldn't have an entire team dedicated just to his success, no? He's been pretty spoilt at HTC with the quality of the lead-out train he had too-but he's also great at jumping onto wheels and finding opportunities himself so I don't think he'll find it too hard at Sky, he'll just need to be a bit sneakier. I like sneakiness, it's a great quality to have.

He was well back. The Sky train fell apart.
GE owned yesterday with or without the crash. Stop making excuses. -

Anyway, Ferrari has been taken into the Venezuelan witness protection programme for his own safety;

Not that far back when his wheel was taken and I still think he could have beaten the dross in front of him.
No question that the Sky train fell apart on day two, but it worked fine on day one. GE looked ok, but the onus isn't on them to make the race

Yes, which is why I still bother watching with Cav winning most sprints.

Actually at least 5 bike lengths. AWESOME GOSS was second right behind him the day before.
That's a huge gap, especially with Cav having to work around people and AWESOME GOSS having a clear run at the line.I think the Sky train looks plenty strong enough.

Anything else you'd like to change?

I don't think the Sky train fell apart that badly.. If memory serves Cav lost G's wheel at some point. I remember seeing G look back for Cav before sitting up.

GE's last leadout has just peeled off with Goss in front.
Spot a Sky rider...?

There are two riders in a direct line between Cav and Goss, with at least one set of wheels overlapping. How can you claim 5 bike lengths?
If you look at the photo I posted and the one you posted you can see Cav had already closed half the distance on Goss.
Anyway, enjoy it while it lasts and we'll see who takes the next win when they both stay upright.

Any opportunity to wind up an Aussie. Realistically I concede that Goss was odds on going into the last 500m. I'm quite enjoying the G-E behind the scenes daily diary though.
Sky don't seem to have the same fire power as HTC, but they definitely have enough for Cav to take his fair share of wins. He needs to get some practice scrapping for a wheel before the tour anyway, when he definitely won't be getting the same leadout.

Disagree. At the moment they might as well be non existant. Not fast enough to stretch the bunch out and stop Cav being bumped off Thomas' wheel.
Practice for Cav at the tour I guess.
Giro style!
