It's utter bollocks though. He had this treatment once and, at the time, it wasn't prohibited so there is absolutely no case to answer.
-
• #103
Ah. Why the hell are road cc reporting it like its fact then?!
-
• #104
Because they copied and pasted the bulk of the article from somewhere else?
-
• #105
Hysterical finger-pointing in the cycling press without facts to back up the accusations?
Shurly not...

"All German athletes had to report to this Doctor and it is the Doctor who is currently under investigation.
At the time of Kittels visits the UV treatment wasn't banned by WADA.
There is no suggestion from any authority that Kittel has done anything wrong." -

I have to say I'm impressed with how the team (I still want to call them Skil-Shimano) have dealt with this. That press release is factual and neutral in tone and they've sought to engage with the press rather than hiding away.

Easier to handle the press if you have nothing to hide I guess.

You could say riding a bike at pro level indicates a doping attitude.

How do you know why the treatment was given?
Would you say no to a blood transfusion after a crash if it would keep you alive? Transfusions aren't always Contador-esque steak infusions.

Does a few millilitres of blood being removed, exposed to a UV light, then put back in really consitute a 'transfusion'?
There is no case to answer as this treatment was not banned at the time. Case closed.

Even my fellow sweatys are winning bike races now; hat to Andy Fenn and Adam Blythe second in Qatar behind Boonen!

Boonen made that look pretty easy. Did anyone else even bother?
What's a sweaty?
Thought that Kittel's "best neo pro ever" year was a bit too good to be true...
